I trudged through the snow, my black cloak held tightly to my lean body. My brother, William, was next to me.

"I don't understand why we need to walk out here." I grumbled, my teeth clenched. I glared at him through wispy blonde hair that hung in loose locks.

"It is good to spend some time at night outside to clear your mind, you have been stressing recently." William said curtly. His hands behind his back.

"Will! It's below freezing?!" I hissed, my breath billowing out in puffy plumes. I heard a chuckle to my right and scowled.

"Alright, can we go inside now???" I asked, now feeling more unhappy.

"But we barely walked for five minutes!"

"One minute was more than enough."

"You truly don't understand the meaning of a clear mind."

"Well, I'm the one with magic here."

William sighed, "If you truly insist-."

That was when I saw it.

At the time I never truly knew how much it would mean to me. But I couldn't help myself hurry forwards. William stared after me in utter confusion before following me.

"And where do you think you're going?"

I did not respond. I just kept my gaze locked on the bright streak falling from the sky.

"(Y/N), wait!" I heard him yell, but I was already running towards the forest.

In my kingdom, stars were our guidance, our power, our hope. Only a few in our history can have the courtesy of being approached by a star, more or less even get close to one. Fallen stars were a very valuable moment, as for where we sat up high within the mountains, we were always close enough to watch the shooting stars soar above our heads. Close enough that we can see its energy coursing within its frozen stone when it comes close.

I ran, my lungs burning from the cold and my nose running. My legs grew numb and the trees around me became thicker.

I soon slowed to a stop. I could see a bright light filter through the trees, my heart pounded. Could it be?

I couldn't hear my brother behind me as I approached the small glowing light nestled in the snow. I felt numb as I grew mesmerized by the star.

I couldn't hear my brother behind me, telling me to step away from the star.

I couldn't have known this star was unstable

My fingertips brushed the cold stone and my body grew rigid. Waves of light exploded from the star, illuminating the dark forest and throwing William off his feet.

My vision blurred, my mouth agape, trying to scream.

Then all was dark.

Silence

Then light.

I woke up to the sight of my worried parents.

The doctors have said I had absorbed the star's chaotic energy but was otherwise unharmed. William, however, had severe frostbite and a twisted ankle. For the next week the doctors have been trying to figure out what exactly happened to me, but their methods never revealed anything. They were about to scan me with an energy detector.

About to

Not before we were attacked.

It all happened so quick, but all I remember is being rushed to the secret escape tunnel with my brother. My parents told us to find the fearless seven, well, mainly William.

We had made it out but were spotted. William had sacrificed his freedom to help me escape.

For months I have traveled all around Fairytale Island but couldn't find the fearless seven, and it didn't help that the beings who invaded my kingdom got word that I had escaped.

So that's how I am here, an unstable princess looking for help.

And little did I know that help was just up the hill...
