For me, life is something that should be keep. No matter how you struggle in keeping it, no matter how much you tried in saving it. Life matters, even it's a good or worst one.
"It's been a good 5 years America." I whisper looking at the view in my penthouse.
It's five in the morning. I am wearing a beige turtle neck and short white skirt with my boots, holding my coffee. The view from my penthouse are full of skyscrapers covered with clouds. I a sipping on my coffee when someone call on my phone
"yes Lash?" my best friend called.
"Rich, everything are settled here in USA and in Phil. Please take care. May susundo na sa'yo pag dating mo doon, I booked a grab. Order ka na muna ng food since wala pang laman ang condo. Next week pa flight ko, see you there."
"Yes Lash, thank you." I laughed.
"Girl how could you laugh! Do you know how trouble could you make by choosing to live in that condo? Gosh you could buy that whole building"
"Sshh it's five in the morning Lash, I'll go now."
Dreams. Dreams make us fool sometimes. When I am younger they always say that 'libre lang mangarap' that's totally right. Libre ang mangarap pero hindi ang isakatuparan ito. Because if it's free, I wouldn't lose so much back then.
I take a look on my penthouse in New York City that I lived in 5 years. This place is where I made my dreams, where I made it to reality. All of my dreams are achieved, except for one. Except for that one that I once held in my own hands.
I pull my luggage with me. I just brought one luggage for my conveniency since I will be alone through the flight. I waited in the airport wearing my shade and mask. Trying to hide. When I saw a familiar man having a coffee in a far table.
"putangina" I whisper
My flight is a smooth yet tiring. I waited for the grab that my friend book. Excited to take a rest with Philippines air pollution, I missed this. When I arrived in the condo, my brain bombarded with so much memories. I enter and lock the door but in a few seconds someone trying to open it.
In a snap, the man I saw earlier are in my doorstep holding his luggage and looking so shocked and handsome at the same time. He's wearing na grey polo shirt and black slacks with a designer belt with a brand that I once endorse.
"Why are you here?" I asked curiously. His brows shut up and tilted his head enjoying this moment.
"Excuse me miss? Who are you?" He laughed, teasing me.
I remove my shades and mask. He's just trying to drain my patience, he knows me, ofcourse he does. He knows every part of me, even if I covered half of it.
"Why are you here?" I seriously ask and walk to the living area. Narinig ko ang pagsunod niya.
"This is mine, I should've ask you that."
"This is mine." I said with finality.
"Come on Chan, we both know this is ours"
"Yea right. Rich Valerie by the way" I corrected him with my the name I used in the industry and breath deeply "What's your plan? I thought you're abroad."
We are seated calmly on the couch, facing each other. I look around, the condo looks clean. Some interior change and it looks like someone is living here.
"That's not the name I am moaning back then." he wink "Yea, abroad for a week. Why do you even know?" He asked raising a brow.
He look more matured now. I put my tongue in the insides of my cheek trying to hide a smile. He remove his silver wrist watch and shoes casually. I tried to maintain my serious aura.
"Fuck you Kyle shut up. I'm staying here." I said.
"I'm staying here, too. I'm living here actually" he said.
"That's not what I heard."
"I am living here 1 year now."
"We can't stay together." I tell him crossing my arms in my chest.
"Why can't we live together? We used to-" He leaned on the back rest.
"Oh Kyle, today is different"
"Why? Are you in relationship?"
"No, are you?"
"No" he smirk.
"I'm staying here, live the fuck you want I am taking the masters bedroom."
I stand up and pulled my luggage with me, walking towards the hallway. I stop when I hear footsteps behind me.
"Leave me alone, Kyle."
"Keep calling me Kyle, I like it." I wasn't used to call him Kyle back then, I only used it in bed.
"Are you sex deprived or what?" I ask getting pissed now.
"What?" now he look like clueless puppy.
I open the door of the masters bedroom and saw a clean bedsheets, a slipper on the floor, and some clothes hanging on the corner. From the smell of the room, I know this is where he staying.
"Sure we're staying here"
"Why you suddenly came back?" he ask.
"I'm reaching my dreams here."
"That's the same exact words you tell me when you leave for New York."
