Authors POV
Naina sat on the edge of the bed, her eyes glistening with unshed tears as she tried to hold back her emotions. The weight of her sadness seemed unbearable as she buried her face in her hands, seeking solace in the solitude of her room.
Arjun entered, his footsteps tentative as he noticed Naina's distress. "What happened, Naina?" he asked softly, concern etched in his voice.
Her anger flared at his inquiry, fueled by the turmoil raging within her. "If you love someone else, why did you marry me?" she blurted out, her words sharp with hurt and accusation.Arjun's smile was gentle, his eyes filled with understanding as he took a seat beside her. "Do you really think I'm in love with someone else?" he replied, his tone gentle yet firm.
Naina's brow furrowed, confusion mingling with the anger in her heart. "Yes.. but if you love her then why did you marry me?" she demanded, her voice trembling with emotion.
Arjun's expression softened as he began to speak, his words painting a vivid picture of the day their paths first crossed. "It was at Jewika's wedding," he began, his voice tinged with nostalgia as he recalled the memory. "You bumped into me, and for a moment, time stood still. And you think I love her... "
Naina's brow furrowed in confusion, her gaze locked on his as she listened intently to his tale. "I couldn't take my eyes off you," he continued, his voice filled with sincerity. "Your hazel brown eyes, your little chubby cheeks, even your little double chin – everything about you captivated me. I fell in love with you that day," he confessed, his eyes locked on hers with unwavering intensity. "Your laughter, your smile, everything about you drew me in, and you know what from that day my favourite colour is white because you wore white saree and I knew then that I had to make you mine."
As he spoke, Naina felt a warmth spreading through her, thawing the coldness that had gripped her heart. His words were like a balm to her wounded soul, offering comfort and reassurance in the midst of her pain. But as she dared to let hope bloom within her once more, Arjun's teasing tone shattered the moment, his words tinged with playful accusation. "Are you jealous, Naina? Ohh now I got it so, someone is jealous that means someone likes me or say loves me??" he asked, a hint of tease and amusement dancing in his eyes.
Flushed with embarrassment, Naina turned away, her cheeks burning with embarrassment. "No way," she muttered, her voice barely above a whisper, as she made to leave the room.
But Arjun's voice, infused with the melody of a familiar song, stopped her in her tracks.
"Tu sabra to kar mere yaar
Jara saans to le dildaar
Chal fikar nu goli maar yaar
Hai din jindadi de chaar
Haule haule ho jayega pyaar chaleya
Haule haule ho jayega pyaar
Haule haule ho jayega pyaar chaleya
Haule haule ho jayega pyaar" he sang softly, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he watched her reaction.
Caught off guard, Naina couldn't help but smile, her heart fluttering with a newfound warmth. And as she left the room, her cheeks flushed with a rosy hue, she couldn't deny the truth that lingered in her heart.******
