Start Of Summer

Summer air was finally in the air, the wind was flowing through my red straight burnt hair as I sat in my friend's yellow bug. We're heading to the town's most popular spot to get drunk, laid, stoned and meet new people. As we're driving down the street blasting doja cat, I'm thinking about how awkward it's gonna be because I won't know anyone or what to say to people. But most importantly, What If I run into Jackson? We've only been snapping for a couple of weeks now, and everyone knows who he is, oh god what if people think we're together- "Girl! It's gonna be so much fun! You're gonna love it!" Charlotte screams at me through the music. Charlotte is one of my best friends, but everyone calls her Char. I've only met her a few weeks ago from our school's dance team. She switched schools last year, and I'm honestly really glad she did. She sure knows how to make people get out of their shells. She's literally like a model, tall, tan, blonde hair, talented, and very attractive to the male species. She's already hooked up with one of the hottest seniors in our school and she's very proud of herself for it. I just give her a smile as she looks at me, she's turning down the music as we pull into FlowerBloom Park. There's cars parked in every parking spot, teengers just standing around talking in groups, some smoking, some drunk out of their minds, some staring at us pulling in to see if they know who we are. Charlotte pulls into a parking spot in front of the basketball court, she has a huge smile on her face while im looking at everyone there seeing if i know anyone. The car then turns off and Charlotte gets out of the car, so I follow along.

"Oh shit hey Sam!" Charlotte says to a random man i've never seen before in my life. "Oh hey Charlotte! How've you been!" he replies back

"I've been good, Say there's a lot of people here tonight."

"Ya, everyone knows about it now so it's kinda always like this." He than looks around

He then looks at me awkwardly standing there and says "Hey im Sam, what's your name?"

"I'm Violet."

"Nice to meet you Violet, i've never seen you here you go to RedVine High School?"

"Uh ya" I laugh awkwardly, "I like to keep a low profile I guess." Oh god why did I say that.

He starts talking more but I'm not really listening to him. I'm still looking around trying to find one person I know so I can get away from this conversation. Then I spot this girl named Madison walking by with a girl. We used to be on the dance team together our freshmen year. She wasnt my favorite person but it'll get me away from this. I open my phone and go to snapchat, i quickly type in Madison Gurro and her profile pops up i then type.

Hey Madison, are you at Butter rn?

Ya haha why?

I am too, where are you at?

I'm by the field, where drawing on the sidewalk you can come by if you want.

Ok! Be right there.

Boom, and I've found my way out. "Hey imma go say hi to a friend." I say to Char

"Okay, I'll go over soon." she says then goes back to talking to the Sam kid. I started walking over to Madison looking extra hard, making sure I don't walk past her or to the wrong group of people. The sun had already set so I was relying on the source of the street lamps and car headlights. Then I spotted two girls and a guy sitting on the sidewalk laughing and drawing.

"Hey Madison." i say as i walk up to her

"Oh hey Violet!" she replies back with a smile on her face

Madison was a very interesting girl. She was very pretty and a kind hearted girl, she had dark brown hair, pale skin tone, very green eyes, and a bright smile. A lot of people knew of Madison. Me and her never really got along during our freshmen year but some time has passed so now we're mutual i guess.

"What are y'all doing?" i ask as i look down at their drawings

"Oh we're making the paw patrol characters high. Wanna join?" she says as drawing well giggling with her friend.

"Sure" I said, laughing. I grab a broken pencil and start drawing a star.

As were sitting there talking and laughing at the dumb pictures were drawing, a car pulls up and i just hear a sorta deep voice yell

"You guys need some light?!"

Madison then smiles wider than i've seen her smile all night and screams back "Yes please!"

A second later a car's headlights are thrown onto us as the stranger parks his car right in front of us.

I then look up, a dark headed, semi tall , lean skinny boy wearing a hat, ripped jeans and a black shirt gets out of a black Audi driver seat.

At this point Char had made her way back to me. Her and the strange man have made eye contact. He then says hello to her, she replies back and then he notices me.

"Hi, I'm Char." Char says standing right infront of me and the dark headed boy.

"Hey, I'm Tyler! Nice to meet you Char and..." he stops mid sentence to turn his head towards me and away from Char, waiting for me to say my name.

I look at him for a second, a little nervous, then I tell him my name, "I'm Violet."

"Well , nice to meet you guys. But what are you guys doing over here?"

"Oh I know violet." Madison informs Tyler that we aren't just some strangers invading his group.

"Ya, and we're just trying to make some new friends for this school year." Char adds along with Madison's comment.

"Oh shit well if you guys are down, we're all going to Ihop in the morning you guys can join us if you want?" Tyler says with a smile on his face.

"Oh my god! Yes we'd love to! What time?" Char says with excitement.

"We don't know the details yet but give me your snap and I'll give you the information later tonight." Tyler says as he hands his phone to Char.

"Perfect!" She says back, putting her information into his phone.

"Well, it was nice meeting you guys but we've gotta get going as miss violet here needs to be home soon, but we'll see you guys tomorrow morning." Char adds as she hands the phone back to Tyler.

"Cool, we'll see you guys tomorrow." Tyler says putting his hands into his pocket giving us a smile.

I just give an awkward smile goodbye and walk away with Char.

As we start driving away from the park Char is screaming with excitement, "Yes Vy we have a group of friends for the year! This year is gonna be so fun!"

I smile at her comment, "You have worked the magic you always told me you had."

"And girl he was checking you out the whole time. Tomorrow is gonna be so fun." Char says, jumping in her seat. "Oh he added me into a group chat, here add yourself." She says well handing me her phone also well trying not to kill us.

I do as she told me too, shortly after i get a notification from snap saying

"TYLER MILLER AS ADDED YOU AS A FRIEND"
