1year later

In the stillness of the night, as the moon cast its gentle glow through the window, Ram and Priya lay nestled in the cocoon of their shared bed. The tranquility of their slumber was abruptly interrupted by the intrusive sound of Priya's ringing phone, jolting them awake.

With a groan, Ram voiced his irritation, "Priya, why on earth is your phone ringing at this hour?"

Priya, already reaching for her phone, countered, "You know I have to keep it on in case of emergencies, Ram. Just let me check who it is."

Ram, unwilling to relinquish the warmth of their shared cocoon, stubbornly clung to the covers. "Can't you handle it yourself? It's probably nothing important anyway," he muttered, burying his head deeper into the pillow.

Priya's patience wore thin as she reluctantly slid out of bed, the cool touch of the wooden floor contrasting with the warmth she left behind. "Ram, please," she pleaded, her voice tinged with frustration. "It'll only take a moment. I promise."

Ram's reluctance persisted, his grip on the duvet tightening as if unwilling to release her into the night's chill. "Fine," he relented, his grumble softened by the drowsiness that still clouded his senses. "But make it quick."

With a nod, Priya tiptoed across the room, her steps a delicate ballet in the moonlit silence. Each creak of the floorboards seemed to echo through the room, a gentle reminder of the world beyond their sanctuary.

Finally reaching her phone, Priya hesitated for a moment,

Startled, Priya's hand hovered over the device for a moment before she finally answered, her voice tentative yet curious.

"Hello?" she murmured, her breath catching in her throat as she waited for a response.

On the other end, Lisa's voice crackled with excitement, her words tumbling out in a rush of enthusiasm. "masi, oh my goodness, you won't believe it! I've found the one, the perfect guy for me," she exclaimed, her joy palpable even through the phone.

Lisa's excitement bubbled over as she confirmed the details, her words tumbling out in a rush of anticipation. ,  We're having our engagement ceremony at Rajasthan!, and I want you to be there with me, masi. You're like family to me, and I couldn't imagine celebrating this moment without you."

Priya's heart skipped a beat at the unexpected news, her mind racing to catch up with the whirlwind of emotions coursing through her. "Lisa, that's incredible!" she replied, her voice a mixture of surprise and happiness. "But... Rajasthan? Next week?"

Priya's mind whirred with conflicting emotions, torn between the joy of her friend's happiness and the uncertainty of facing her past. "Lisa, I... I don't know what to say," she stammered, her thoughts racing as she grappled with the suddenness of the invitation.

Then priya took a long pause  "Masi, are you there?" she chirped, her enthusiasm contagious even through the phone.

Priya hesitated for a moment, grappling with the weight of their shared history and the uncertainties that lingered between them. "Yes, Lisa, I'm here," she replied, her tone soft yet tinged with emotion.

Lisa's voice softened with understanding as she sensed Priya's hesitation. "Masi, I hope you know that I've moved on," she reassured, her words carrying a sincerity that touched Priya's heart. "Whatever happened in the past, it's behind us now. And I want you to know that I'm happy, truly happy."

Priya felt a surge of warmth flood her chest at Lisa's words, a sense of relief washing over her as she realized the depth of their bond. "Thank you, Lisa," she murmured, her voice choked with emotion. "I'm happy for you too, truly."
