"So...that happened."
"I'm tired."
Khaota and Kithara were both lying on the ground on their backs. Their hair was in all different directions, both of them had faint bruises and scratches scattered over their bodies, their clothes were scattered across the room, the furniture surrounding them had been knocked over or broken, and both of them were panting heavily. The room had also begun to smell because of Audrey's body still being inside of it.
"We should get out of here before someone finds us."
No response. Khaota turned to look at the clown only to realise that she'd fallen asleep. They rolled their eyes and sat up before grabbing her shoulder and shaking it.
"Hey!"
"Ah! I'm not! ...huh?"
"Wake up, we have to leave."
"Then nap? Like a sleepy lion..."
"Sure, whatever."
The two managed to get up off the ground, using some cloths to clean themselves off a little before getting re-dressed and fixing their hair so they looked relatively normal. They only just managed to get out of the palace and back to the carriage, free Ralfe, grabbed their actual clothes, then ran. The three of them eventually set up camp somewhere near a lake, where Kithara and Khaota were able to actually bathe before getting dressed into their usual outfits.
"So, did you two do it?" Ralfe asked.
Khaota almost choked on air, "What?"
"Y'know, the assassination job."
"Oh, right. Yes."
"Did something happen in there? You two have barely spoken to each other."
"That clown is literally asleep. While I am, in fact, always the only voice worth listening to, I'm not going to converse with someone who is unconscious."
"You are amazingly self-assured."
"Well, of course."
Ralfe simply laughed before shrugging it off and finding a cosy patch of ground to rest and go to sleep. Khaota waited til the human they reluctantly kept had definitely sunk into a slumber before turning to look at their clown. They were angry with themselves. Angry and confused.
Why did they let themselves do that? And with her? They had nothing to gain by doing that. Of course, they had engaged in acts of carnal desire before, but only because it was a simple way of manipulating people. Yet with Kithara...there was no reason to have done that. If anything, they should have attacked her. She was being so vicious and violent towards them. Hell, she was trying to actually kill them! However, instead of knocking her out, killing her first, restraining her...they copulated with her.
But the thing they were most ashamed of; They enjoyed it.
'No, that's insane,' They thought to themselves, 'The activity calmed her down from her violent frenzy. Yes, yes, of course, that's exactly it. She was beyond insane, I keep her around as a tool, I needed to keep her alive so I couldn't kill her first, so I had to mate with her to make her relax in the absence of her wheel. That's it. That's all it was. Nothing more. Just tactical.'
They sighed and lazily brushed their bangs out the way of their eyes. The warmth of the campfire was so pleasant against their midnight-black scales. They wished so dearly that their master was still alive. They needed a sensible point of view. They huffed and set up their bedroll before reluctantly allowing themselves to sleep. Maybe they just needed to forget today. New morning, new start.
