Chapter 1 Death in the family

Ruby rose sat in the church building. It was quiet. Too quiet it was so quiet in fact you could hear the smallest of animals. Until someone spoke up. It was Weiss the huntress/royalty member of the team.

Weiss stared at the crowd of people and spoke in a shaky and disappointed tone of voice.

Weiss: We're here today to grieve the death of the strongest member of our team. Yang xiao long. She was courageous funny special and most importantly a dear friend and loyal member. She was a friend to all big or small short or tall. I remember meeting her and ruby in beacon academy and I will forever miss you.

The girl walked off the platform and sat next to ruby. The leader squeezed her friends hand tightly Weiss looked down. The leaders knuckles were white from the pressure. As she hugged ruby tightly Blake stood atop the platform cleared her throat and began.

Blake: yang was a really nice and charismatic person she carried the team with her arms she never gave up on anything. If she wanted something bad enough she'd get it nothing got in her way. For the past couple of days after her death I have been very upset and I've been going through a lot of pain nightmares and suffering lately. I blame Salem for taking my future wife away from me. I just want to hold her and kiss her one more time. I wanna watch our favorite movies together and play her favorite video games. But I can't I'm so heartbroken by this loss rest easy yang. We will miss you.

She got off the platform wiping her eyes. The death of her girlfriend was really hitting her she didn't have to explain it ruby could tell from miles away.

Finally ruby stood in front of the microphone and spoke sounding way more depressed and heartbroken.

Ruby: I miss my big sister. I remember being a little kid and she'd always read to me play with me and help me with my 1st grade homework. She'd sing to me and take care of all my needs when mom or dad left the house. I remember waking up at 3:00am to rain and thunder I'd knock on her door and ask to sleep with her. She was a one of a kind sister and.... I just want her back please I'd give my life to be with her again......

Ruby collapsed to the floor in front of the whole crowd and cried

Ruby: why couldn't it be me who died? Please I don't want to let her go......

Weiss walked over to ruby and helped her up ruby grabbed at yangs coffin and stared at the lifeless body of the beautiful blonde woman.

(Outside)

The casket was lowering down as everyone watched with sadness as yangs casket was lowering the sound of thunder could be heard.

Blake: fitting weather it matches my soul

Ruby and Weiss nodded.

After a long while everyone left leaving ruby Blake and Weiss alone.

Weiss: she's.......gone.

Blake: I don't want to talk about it I wanna be left alone for a few hours.

Ruby fell on her knees and stared at the gravestone it said. Yang xiao long funny brave smart. Ruby stared at the picture of yang she looked so pretty so happy and full of live but now she wasn't she was nothing more then a broken and unusable body buried 20ft under.

Weiss: ruby. It's raining pretty hard come on. Let's go inside and I'll make hot chocolate how's that sound?

Ruby said nothing she stayed silent. She didn't care if she caught a cold or get wet.

Weiss: I'll make your favorite chocolate chip cookies and we can play remnant together.

Ruby: it isn't the same.....

Weiss frowned and placed her gloved hand onto Ruby's shoulder.

Weiss: look ruby I'm sorry I'm just trying to cheer you up now please come on I don't want you getting sick.

Ruby sighed and stood up she broke down*

Weiss hugged the girl and tried to comfort her leader.

Weiss: shhh shhh Shhh it's okay ruby let it all out I'm here for you.

Ruby cried harder and harder In the pouring rain. Weiss sighed a couple tears fell from her face. Weiss's mind started talking.

She's upset how can we help her?

What? Of course she's upset idiot ruby lost her freaking sister you know that.

You're making it worse.

Your bestest friend is upset and you think I'm making things worse?

Don't give me that if it was up to me I'd be long gone the first day of this stupid team.

Weiss shook her head and sighed sadly she knew her mind was crazy but this crazy?

Maybe a therapist Weiss thought.

Ruby thought about the questions from earlier.

Ruby: fine but I doubt cookies will help.

This was serious ruby loves cookies Weiss felt confused by Ruby's answer she tried to hide her confusion.

Weiss: no problem rubes let's go inside then.

The two walked inside the schnee manor and outside of the pouring rain and cracking thunder.
