It was just another rainy day in Denver. I swear this state is bi polar one day it's in the 80's and then the next day it's raining or just really cold. The weather just cannot make up its mind. My sister May and I have been living here for about a month and half now, we both had jobs and were actually doing really well for being eighteen and moving away from LA where we were born and raised. I loved my parents don't get me wrong but we both needed a fresh start and it was partially to get away from the constant fighting with our boyfriends. See back in LA May and I met these two guys at the mall, Ryan and Alex. They were really nice and they were both ninteen but they weren't brothers just best friends. After becoming best friends with them about one year later Alex and May developed feelings for each other and started dating. Then about a month later Ryan and I started dating. My relationship was fantastic till about three months into it. Ryan started to go out drinking and then come back to my house and hit me because he thought that I was cheating on him while he wasn't home, which wasn't true. Alex tried to help me out by talking to him when he was sober but that did no good. I was forced to wear long sleeved shirts and pants all the time because I had brusies up and down my legs and arms and I knew that if someone saw that they would quesiton it and maybe call the police and I knew that Ryan would deny everything and say that he never hit me and he has no idea where I got those brusies. About a month after Ryan started hitting me he got Alex into drinking, and that's all that they would ever do. May and I would come home from work and find beer cans and shot glasses everywhere and empty bottles of vodka just laying around the house. We got real tired of it and broke up with Ryan and Alex and kicked them out. About a week after we broke up with them we came home from work super tired and just wanted to eat dinner and go to bed. We both worked at a daycare which was alot of work but between the both of us we made enough money to pay rent for a two bedroom apartment and still have some money left over for food, and our cell phone bills. We came home to find that our front door was already unlocked, and cracked open. Me being the paraniod freak I am, I reached in my purse and grabbed my pocket knife. I didn't know what to find behind that door, just know that I need to be prepared to use this damn thing at any given moment in time. I went in first because I had the knife and May didnt have anything with her. The house was completely dark except there were some candles lit. I walked into the apartment really slowly and got to the first doorway and I slowly walked in and turned on the light. My kitchen was a complete disaster. Pots, pans, plates, silverware, anything that belonged in the kitchen was thrown onto the floor but there was no one in there. So I turned around with May right at my heel and I grabbed her hand just so I knew that she was behind me at all times and someone didnt try to take her. I walked into the living room and there sitting on the couch was the two most unexpected people that I didn't want to see in my life ever again. My eyes grew bigger and bigger as they both slowly stood up and turned around and pointed two guns at us. I quickly pulled May behind me because if they were to kill anyone I'd do anything to save her life and let them take mine because she doesn't deserve to be killed.

"Well well well, look who is home. If it isn't the girls who think they could get rid of us when obviously they can't." Ryan said.

"Lets get to business." Said Alex. It was right then and there when I freaked out. I didn't know what they were going to do to us. I just didn't wanna die at that point and I knew that if I tjried to make a run for it, I would be killed instantly. Ryan and Alex pushed May and I back into my room and tied our hands and feet together and taped our mouths shut.

"We'll be back tomorrow don't move until then." Said Alex as they both turned around and left. That night I got free and untied May. I told her to hurry up and pack all of our important things like clothes, tolietries, phone chargers, computers, pictures of us and that was it. I didn't care about the furniture or anything like that we filled up 4 suitcases and called our dad to come and get us. Once he got there I made him take us to the airport and on the way there I bought the tickets to Denver, Colorado on my iPhone. I had a couple of friends that had moved there after high school so I knew we could stay with them, but if we were in a different state I at least knew we would be somewhat safe for a while and we could get jobs, get a place to live, and be able to pay bills right away. But little did I know that Ryan and Alex would find us three months later and make our lives living hell.
