INTRO.
the only thing that ever seemed to bond miya osamu and miya atsumu together was blood. besides being brothers, most witnesses of their relationship would state that they aren't compatible with eachother at all. osamu would say he had a love-hate dynamic with his brother. he cared about him (as brothers do), but felt embarrassed to be associated with him sometimes.
he prided himself in all his differences from atsumu, his quieter demeanor, being slightly smarter than him, and overall just being less bothersome as a human. (he also believed he was taller by two inches, but never really brought it up to his bleach blonde counterpart).
until the day he encountered you.
osamu sighed, pulling at the collar of his uniform that now felt much too tight. it was a swelteringly hot day out, a sign of how most students are beginning the bridge the gap between their time off and starting a new school year. he's a second year now, priding himself on passing his classes and being a starter on the inarizaki men's volleyball team.
he comes out of the locker room second (a few minutes after kita) setting himself on the bench to tie his shoes before warmups.
however, when osamu focuses his gaze up, he's surprised to see kita conversing with you. clad in the blazer of the prestigious school, you seem intent on listening to kita as you nurse a large and awkward camera in your hand. he's aware of your existence, though he's never been too interested in you; he couldn't even tell you what club you're in. which has him confused on why you're even here at all.
as the rest of the team filters in, he watches you stand beside kita to give an introduction.
"...i'm here from the newspaper club. i'll be writing about the team and their promising prospect this year."
osamu listens but isn't too affected by you. he gives a nod of approval before beginning his warmups like everyone else. atsumu sets to him as usual and everything is just the same.
