Waiting here at the waiting shed, I'm looking at the usual busy city. People are passing by, the surroundings are loud due to the different vehicles' horns and people's conversations, while some are waiting for the next bus like me.
I looked up at the sky as I felt a rain that dropped on my shoe.
"It's raining..."
The thunder roared, and the rain rapidly fell until it became a storm which left the corners empty, making people hurriedly to find a shelter to this cold weather.
I sigh. It's been a couple of minutes since I arrived here and the bus hasn't come yet. I reached for my phone in my pocket and saw a message from my parents.
"Where are you? Hurry up! We still have work!"
I took a breath and replied: "There's still no bus."
Brushing my hair, I let my hands enter my hoodie's pocket, still waiting for that bus to arrive.
Then finally, the bus stopped in front of me. People around me began to stand up, but I froze from my spot when you came out of the bus, holding that yellow umbrella, while letting your hair flow effortlessly due to the cold breeze. My heart skipped a beat, staring at your eyes that eventually looked into mine.
People are walking back and forth, however we didn't mind as we savor this moment. Under the rain drops, I found my solace. We found each other amidst the thunder and storm.
Those encounters followed, bumping into each other with the same scenario but in different ways. You, sitting in the long chair while holding a book, then I sat right next to you, holding my phone to distract myself but eventually stole glances at you. I couldn't help but glance at those beautiful brown eyes and the shape of your lips as you read a line in the book. That light makeup, and your straight almond hair that compliments your eyelashes.
Looking at you, it's like a goddess came down from heaven, conquering my heart with your dazzling beauty.
Then like our first encounter, your head turned, letting your eyes look into mine. A smile curved upon your lips and muttered a single word which left me agape.
"Hi," you said.
I didn't expect this moment. I didn't expect you would initiate the conversation. I'm still stunned that we're right by each other, letting me see your pulchritude up close. I bite my lips as I stare at your eyes while you are talking about your favorite book. From that nanosecond, I couldn't help myself but asked, "What's your name?"
She smiled, and I swear it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, especially when I heard her name that left me astounded, and nervous.
"I'm Chantice."
From strangers to being friends to knowing yourself even more. I felt happiness within me, knowing that I became closer to you. Walking together, I stare at you as you laugh with the joke I said, ignoring the murmurs of people around us. My lips formed into a smile, and just watched you being happy, thus embracing this love, this tenderness, and these feelings. I didn't look away, and just memorized every figure of your face.
You stop walking that made my eyebrows meet. You looked at me straight in the eyes and held my hand, then showed me your brightest smile, which left me breathless by your sudden action.
"Thank you for making me happy, Marco."
I swallowed, feeling the rapid race of my heart. I tried my best to form a smile and let you feel my genuineness by softly holding your hand, and planting a kiss in front of it.
"I like making people happy, especially you, like how you made me feel happy when I'm with you."
Gradually, the rain drops from the sky. Unlike before, I'm prepared. I opened the yellow umbrella that I'm holding and putting it above us.
"I love you," I confessed. "starting from the first time I saw those beautiful brown eyes. Your beauty left me captivated, and my heart races every time we encounter each other on this waiting shed. I always waited here, hoping that you would show up. Then, I thank the destiny that they let us become friends, and upon knowing you more, I... I eventually fell in love with you."
I was losing hope when you stayed silent for a couple of minutes, however, destiny gave me more than I could ever imagine. I guess, when the universe saw me suffering, it gave me her, my love, to brighten up and give me happiness in my dark, and lonely life.
"I love you more than you do," she said, "the moment I saw you holding your phone while I'm riding in the bus."
