just one last jump, a mediocre task, a lifesaving one.
or not. turns out nothing i did mattered.
all we do is dance with death until one of us trips and the music stops,
except this time, the music stopped on its own.
one.
a split second of silence before a sky full of stars, or what one would expect to be stars.
instead, horizonfall is greeted with the heavy fog that one would presume derives from a place of no stars.
his paws sink to the ground, its warm ooze unfamiliar and the air is filled with a metallic aroma.
horizonfall is drowning, yet there is no more water to be seen.
welcome to starclan.
horizonfall was frozen in place, his surroundings causing his stomach to lurch. rivers flowed crimson red, the air was thick and dark. trees wilted, their branches like a hollow skeleton.
'go! get out of here'
'where are they hiding. those pathetic excuses of life are going to get their throats slit. i don't care if they are already dead!'
'mum? wake up please. i think we are lost. i dont really like this place.'
'quick, follow me. let us follow the living'
'look who it is! my old, long dead leader, gladestar! oh am i glad to see you... you coward! what have you done to us? are you ashamed? embarrassed? i would hope so. i warn you, you better watch out. war is coming and i am not on your side.'
horizonfall's head spun. there were voices screaming and shouting everywhere. his vision blurred with panic before he felt claws grab his flank. he whipped around to see a crimson dripping cat dragging him towards the scarlet abyss.
'swiftfoot?' he narrowed his eyes. a heathclan warrior. he struggled against his grip, fighting against both swiftfoot and the heavy 'water'. 'what are you doing?' he hissed,
'you snake! we are going to take you all down after what you did to us. my kits are dead! is this what you fools wanted?' the warrior hisses back, his eyes flashing with anything but sanity.
'did what!?' horizonfall yells back. half his body was now submerged in the thick liquid, and swiftfoot had a strong hold. it then clicked. the water, the screams, the silence.
'swiftfoot! look at me, the water got me too, im not.. i only just died, like you. you remember me from gatherings? im horizonfall, from cordilleraclan', he looked desperate.
swiftfoot's eyes flickered with understanding for a second and his grip loosened, but not before another cat could come through, crushing swiftfoot's ribs in a single blow.
the cracking pierced horizonfall's ears, and the pure white of the other toms bones now protruding through his fur was the only thing he could focus on.
the newcomers glowing eyes now turned their focus onto horizonfall, their jaw dripping with, well, blood of course.
war? this isn't war. this is a straight up bloodbath.
note; this doesn't really make that much sense, but honestly its kind of the point i guess? starclan is at war with itself and no one has any idea what is going on
