Life is like a movie

This one is about two elderly woman. Trigger warning: death, cancer and overdosing.

I always said life was like a movie. There is action, love, happiness, anger and sadness. A movie starts. It has plot twists you didn't see coming. It has moments you don't like and moments you do. Every movie ends. Some movies have happy endings. The main character dies together with their loved ones. Mine doesn't. In my movie I will end up alone. I feel her hand squeezing mine. I look into her eyes. We are just 60. It is not supposed to be our time yet. Some movies have endings that you never expected. Her movie has. When they said she had cancer our world came crashing down. I look at her now. She is pale as a Ghost. I can't lose her. Her movie is not supposed to end yet. But it will. And it will today. She smiles at me.

"It is okay my love. I will be fine." I know she will but I don't know if I will. She was the main character in my movie and what is a movie is the main character dies.

"I know you will, darling." She smiles.

"I am ready. I got everything I wanted in life." She says. Her voice is soft and her eyes are closed. "I got your love, I got kids and a beautiful house. And I got a happy ending."

"You did have a great life darling." I smile at her.

"You need to promise me something." She says.

"Anything."

"Promise me you will continue your life. Promise me you wont end it." I feel the tears falling from my face.

"I promise." With all the energy she has left she opens her eyes and lift her hand to hold my face.

"Don't cry. It was my time to go." I nob.

"I love you my darling." I whisper. I see the light in her eyes dying slowly as her breaths are shallow.

"I love you too." She smiles.

"I will miss you." I say.

"Till we meet again." She says as her eyes close. She dies with a smile on her face.

Every movie has an ending. Mine is too. The empty pillboxes are laying on the ground. It may not have been the ending I expected but that's okay. Every movie has its turn. Now I have my happy ending knowing I will be with her once again.
