Once upon a time...
There lived a lonely sorcerer,
abandoned and despised,
who wore a veil behind which hid,
a hideous monstrous guise.
There lived a pitiful princess,
beautiful and beloved,
who spent six years in slumber,
until her curse was paid in blood.
The sorcerer was tasked with spinning gold.
The princess wished to do more than what she was told,
so hatched a plan to change her state,
and the two souls were bound by an accident of fate.
Rumpelstiltskin. Princess Rosa.
The two struck a deal to make things right,
and set out to be the other for just one night.
In comfort and love, Rumpelstiltskin learned to consider,
and find a friend in the face in the mirror.
In freedom and wonder, Rosa saw magic,
And learned to stand tall against a fate she found tragic.
The two changed souls found solace in their path,
and promised to the way they are.
The king and the queen were shocked at the news,
but their daughter they did not want to lose.
They gained a son (wouldn't you believe),
With skin of stone and hair of leaves,
a smile like sunshine and voice like a stream.
They gained a daughter (now don't be confused),
with hair like gold and eyes of sunlight infused,
healing from their wounds of a past abused.
Gold was spun. The debt was paid.
A contract finally to rest laid.
Then a wedding was held, a joyous occasion.
Many a tear was shed at the celebration.
To friendship and love, Prince Rosa swore.
As they lifted the last veil Princess Rumpelstiltskin ever wore.
The kingdom gained a gift that day.
A prince who saw what could not be seen,
and a princess who made a fantastic queen.
...and they lived happily ever after.
