Sunny lead Glimmer through the castle humming cheerfully. Meeting with Twily! Sunny's head sang. I might become an alicorn today! Well, maybe not. There was a small chance she would become an alicorn today. But there was still a chance.
Glimmer had looked sad all the way through the castle. Like she sensed that Sunny would not become an alicorn today. Which was probably true. But neither of them could see the future. Surely Sunny would become an alicorn eventually. Just maybe not tonight. Now Sunny is looking as sad as Glimmer.
Come on Sunny! Cheer up! To cheer up Glimmer. Sunny was the sun to brighten her day, and Glimmer was the moon to calm their nights. Cheesy, but it was true.
"Brighten up sis!" Sunny said, bumping Glimmer's side. "I might become an alicorn today!" Sunny jumped up and down, pretending to fly. Glimmer frown depended.
"I don't know Sunny, it might be a while before you get some wings." Sunny trotted ahead, humming happily, as if she was so sure she would become an alicorn today. Which she wasn't by the way. But Glimmer needs to think that so she can act happy for her.
They stopped at the end of the hall at a towering lavender door. A large pink star was embeded in the door. Princess Twilight's private study. Two royal guards stood in front of the door.
They wore shiny gold armor with a blue star on the chest. Gleaming spears were held by them, poised, ready to attack. Sunny called them Frowny and Serious. Frowny never smiled, nor spoke. Serious spoke a lot but never laughed at Sunny's jokes.
"Hi!" Sunny said to them, "Me and my sis are here to see the Princess. Training and such." Frowny frowned, again. Serious spoke as usual. "We will tell her you are here." Serious nodded at Frowny and entered the room closing the door behind her. Silence filled the hall.
"So!" Sunny said breaking the silence. "I might become an alicorn today!" Sunny waggled her eyebrows at him, waiting for a congrats. Serious nodded in respect. Now it was Sunny's turn to frown.
"The princess is ready for you." Frowny said, stepping out. Serious and Frowny held the door for the sisters to enter. Serious grunted as the door closed. Muffled arguing burst out from behind the door. Sunny and Glimmer both scurried away.
"Princess?" Glimmer asked quietly. "Louder Glimmer," Sunny said, she took a deep breath. "PRINCESS TWILIGHT!!!!" "Sunny!" Glimmer squeaked. "Shhhhhhhh!" Sunny gave Glimmer a smile.
"Sunny? Glimmer?" Princess Twilight poked her head from behind a bookshelf. "Oh, hello girls." Twilight walked towards them, her mane was down and flowing freely. "Ready to begin training?" Glimmer nodded. Sunny heisitated.
"Um, I have a question," Sunny said. "Will I become an alicorn today." Twilight turned to Sunny, her face uncomfortable. She stepped towards Sunny, slowly. Sunny looked into her eyes, already watering.
Twilight apologized. "I'm sorry, but not for a long time."
