DIVORCE PT. 3 013

After ten minutes of trying to convince the paramedics to let him go with them, Felix is sitting next to Hyunjin, currently unconscious, with unsteady breaths, letting the tears on his face dry;

Leaning towards Hyunjin and brushing his fingers across his face lightly, even if it's all bruised up and bleeding, he still looks good...

It continues to hurt Felix that the divorce was going to commence, and what's hurting him even more now is how his husband, still, just got into an accident.

But who's fault is it really?

Felix's, for not wanting the divorce and refusing to sign the papers, causing Hyunjin to go to court and demand a trial?

Or Hyunjin's, causing an argument and finishing with a divorce, not appreciating Felix's resistance to it all?

As if there's time to think about who caused it all...

Thirty minutes this time. Over thirty minutes of Felix waiting again, and all of it is for what?

He won't bother trying to stop sobbing again. He'll break down as soon as he stops anyway.

What to do when it's already hard enough for Felix to take steady breaths?

All he wants-

He exhaled heavily, shocked himself by how relieved he felt when Hyunjin's doctor finally exited the room.

"He's- alive right? It was just a minor collision-" Felix inquired impatiently, instantly tearing himself away from the seat as tears laced his eyes again.

"Mr Hwang, I apologise. Your husband didn't make it."

Not what Felix wanted to hear.

How was he even supposed to react?

He stood there for a few seconds at least before it all got to him, releasing a soft whimper followed by cries, which obviously ended in sobbing.

"Can- let me see him, please." Felix managed to squeeze out through the small gasps, sitting down as his knees let him down.

"Whenever you're ready." The doctor stated calmly, "Just try to refrain from uncovering the patient."

Felix wants to be comforted;

Held in someone's arms to cry out everything he has to offer.

But the only person who was able to do that for him is gone. Permanently.

And Felix never knew it would hurt this much.

Strike him somewhere sensitive, harshly enough that he's not sure he'll ever get that part of his heart back.

Who knows, maybe seeing Hyunjin might fix or break him for a while...

Might as well hope it's not the latter.

Of course, they did say to refrain from uncovering patients, but Felix just can't not do so;

What do you even mean that he's, according to the request, not allowed to see someone he already misses dearly?

Ah... who really cares about rules... or certain requests... a minute is enough...

So obviously, that's exactly what Felix did, uncovering Hyunjin face to the minimum.

Yeah, it's all bruised up with an ugly red-purple hue and lingering dried blood. Nevertheless, again, Hyunjin does still look quite fine, just to admit.
