DARIA AND ASSATA sat on the fields near the arching range their backs resting on the comforting blades of grass and their eyes being shielded by the leafs above them allowing slivers of the sun to bounce off them. They were always under the same tree for most of their time sitting in thought, thinking about everything and nothing. For Daria it was a time to reset, to allow herself to be alone away from all the other campers who did nothing but suck up to her. She was the head girl of Aphrodite cabin with her good looking and her persuasion skills she was an admirable girl in the camp which meant people were always trying to talk to her. Which would be okay if it wasn't all the time after a while it got overwhelming and annoying which is why she liked to spend her time with Assata. When she was with Assata no one approached her unless they knew Assata, her father put a target on her back and it made people want to avoid her unless they knew her. But Daria knew Assata, and she loved her. They were the closest of friends and for the most part they were always together even if it was in silence. Neither of them broke this silence until Assata sat up with a puzzled look on her face.

"What's wrong?" Daria asked still lying down her eyes closed with a peaceful smile on her face, Assata didn't answer instead she began to pick the grass blades on by one. Daria knew better then to press the issue, she knew by asking more then once after Assata chose not to answer would result in some bullshit answer and she didn't care for that. So instead she just waited for her friend to answer focusing the sound of the arrows flowing and hitting the target and the wind blowing the bangs she had recently cut for herself. Assata didn't answer the question because she didn't think Daria should know the truth and in all honesty it was weighing down on her and you could see it in her face. She looked drained and tired, she was exhausted internally and externally and all she could think about were her next steps. She had stolen Zeus's bolt from his thrown and she knew that he was pissed. She could hear the adults talking about it in hushed whispers, and the more she heard about it the more anxiety filled her stomach. Even though she knew she had nothing to worry about, the bolt wasn't even in her possession anymore she had given it to Luke and she didn't know what he had done with it.

Assata's mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, each more troubling than the last. She knew she was playing with fire, meddling in the affairs of gods, but she also knew that she was past the point of no return. The bolt was out there somewhere, its absence a brewing storm of divine wrath.

Looking at Daria, she managed a small, tight smile, her eyes guarded. "It's nothing," she finally said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"If you say so," Daria hummed as she sat up her eyes immediately landing on Clarissa La Rue, an Ares girl with a snarky attitude but combat skills to back it up. "What do you think goes on in Clarissas head?" she asked her friend who rolled her eyes. Assata was fully aware of the girls crush and she found it irritating. To Assata Clarissa wasn't worth Darias time or energy, Clarissa would drain and ruin her but Daria didn't see it that way.
