Eshana reluctantly dragged herself out of bed at 7AM, dreading the early morning college routine. The idea of heading to college for an 9AM class was particularly unappealing.

Despite her sleepiness, she forced herself to get ready after a quick visit to the bathroom. The emptiness of the fridge served as a cruel reminder of her hunger as she prepared for the day ahead.

The college ID card felt like a symbol of sacrificing sleep for the ritual of attending classes.

As she entered, a familiar touch on her shoulder brought relief - her energetic best friend, Mihika, appeared after her rough morning.

Noticing Eshana's dulled expression, Mihika approached her, concerned about her well-being.

Walking towards their class, hunger gnawed at Eshana, and she expressed her reluctance to attend classes.

Mihika inquired about Eshana's tough morning, correctly guessing the cause. Eshana shared her struggles - hunger and an empty fridge.

Mihika attempted to uplift her Eshana's spirits by offering a sandwich, a thoughtful gesture she always made sure to prepare.

Just as Eshana was on the verge of accepting it, she noticed a sudden shift in Mihika's demeanor, frustration taking over as someone Mihika couldn't tolerate appeared again.

When Eshana turned, she spotted him - the person who consistently took Mihika away for what was supposed to be a minute but always turned into hours.

His presence disrupted their routine, and Eshana couldn't shake off the frustration of Mihika missing her lectures because of him.

Mihika, undeniably a natural beauty, seemed to be everyone's crush, well, almost everyone's.

Tarun, a popular guy, had been pursuing Mihika for a year, but she didn't pay much attention to him. Despite having feelings for him, she thought he was a 'playboy'.

Eshana patiently waited for their conversation to end so they could head to their class.

Finally, Mihika approached, visibly angry. "Let's go, the lecture is about to start, Eshh." She said in an annoyed tone.

"So, another fight between you two? Seriously? He ruined your mood again. Why is he so possessive of you? It's too much. But what caused the argument this time?"

"I was so frustrated, and Eshh is right, he ruined my mood today. Well, he always does. It's nothing, Esh. He was angry because I was at the club last night with a friend. He said he's not a good guy and has bad intentions. I'm not a child; I can take care of myself. I know he's a good person, but for Tarun, every guy has bad intentions towards me! What does he think? He's not my boyfriend, not even a friend!"

Eshana knew Mihika was strong and could handle herself, but there were plenty of friends who could protect her.

She didn't let this spoil her mood. As they entered the class, the professor was already there.

They took their seats, and then Eshana realized she was in deep trouble. Seeing her horrified face, Mihika asked, "What happened?"

"Oh no!"

"No, no, Esh! How could you forget this? He will humiliate you in front of the whole class. Just go and skip his class. Run, escape!"

Eshana's brain was not working this time. How could she forget her project? He would definitely be furious. She couldn't leave the class.

She was terrified when he announced, "Eshana Dixit, present your PPT and project to everyone." She apologized, saying she forgot it at home.

.The professor commented on her responsibility, questioning if she was there to waste her parents' money.

The intuition of shame and inadequacy washed over her, leaving her vulnerable and exposed in front of the entire class.

The professor's sarcastic tone pierced through her like a knife, each word cutting deeper into her already fragile self-esteem.

She felt a wave of embarrassment and humiliation wash over her, as if her every flaw and shortcoming were being exposed for all to see.

A bundle of apprehension in her stomach tightened as she tried to defend herself, but he interrupted. "I don't want to hear your excuses. If you don't want to study, get out of my class."

This made her question her worth and place in the classroom.

As she struggled to find her voice, her throat felt tight with unshed tears, the knot of emotion in her chest suffocating her.

The professor's cold and callous demeanor left her perceiving as though she was the ghost of her own shadow.

In that moment, she felt a mix of fear, anger, and hurt swirling inside her, the emotional turmoil threatening to overwhelm her fragile composure.

Despite her efforts to stand up for herself, she was met with harsh rejection and dismissal, leaving her isolated and misunderstood in a room full of judgmental eyes.

She didn't understand why he hated her so much. He never missed a chance to insult her. Attempting to speak up, she stuttered and apologized.

With a heavy heart and a defeat, she gathered her belongings and rose from her seat, the professor's words ringing in her ears like a painful echo.

The weight of his disdain and indifference settled upon her like a heavy shroud, casting a shadow over her confidence.
