“You are supposed to take the right.” Aaradhya pointed out, when Shubman took a different turn.

“Well,” Shubman admitted, as he tightened his grip on the steering wheel, “I have truth to confess, Aaradhya.”

Aaradhya raised her eyebrows. “And what could that be?”

“I may or may not have lied about you about the duration of the flight—” Shubman starts, as he looks at Aaradhya for a split reaction, “The flight doesn't depart until 12 am, we only have to board around 11 pm.”

Aaradhya's eyes widen in shock, “What is wrong,  It is only six—”

“No, let me finish, Aaradhya,” Shubman interrupts, “I wanted to go around this underrated beach, tonight is a great night for stargazing, I have heard in the news, I know things has been stressful for you, for us. I wanted to cheer you up. Please. Trust me.”

Aaradhya sat silent for a second, “Do whatever you wish to,” she muttered.

Shubman chuckled, celebrated his victory silently. The car came to a stop at their destination, Shubman stepped out of his car, sighed as the beach air finally reached him.

But, he noticed that Aaradhya remained in her seat. He knocked at her window, the glass window slid down.

“Aren't you gonna come out?” Shubman asked, leaning in the window.

“I would like to stay inside here, thanks.” Aaradhya brushed off, her fingers found the roller to close the window.

“I heard bats come around the area looking for flesh blood,” Shubman teases, “They sure do love beautiful women's blood..”

“I am not a child to believe your lies, Shubman,” Aaradhya scoffed as she shut her window. Aaradhya watched as Shubman walked slowly away from her. Finally, she thought, I can be in peace, atleast for a minute.

However, silence filled the car soon after. Aaradhya shifted nervously in her seat. She decided to open the window for some beach air, maybe. Unlike other beaches she has went to, this beach was oddly quiet.

A black shadow suddenly flew past her, with her heart pounding in her chest, she quickly closed the window. She turned around her seat to see what might the creature could've been. It was a bat.

Fuck, fuck. He was right. She thought silently in fear.

Far away— she saw Shubman, sitting peacefully as he enjoyed the view, unaware of whatever is happening at the moment. Swallowing her spit down her throat, she decided to be with Shubman.

That prick laughed at her when Aaradhya told him what happened. “Got scared that you might turn into a vampire, did you? I thought you liked those stuff, Aaradhya,” He teased her.
