Hi my names is rose and before I tell you the story of me going to obx and everything that happened sit back and get some popcorn it's a long story the year was 2024 and I had just moved to obx in march I use to life in new York but my mom met some trash of a guy and had to move out here my father died when I was a little girl he was brutally killed and the odd thing was that as soon as he was gone my mom was hooking up with guys left and right she was probably cheating on my dad but there's no telling I was little so I didn't know what anything like that was but I remember hearing screams thinking my mom was getting hurt now I've realized how stupid I was to think that anyway when I got in obx I fell in love it's so beautiful and so warm compared to New York I walked into my moms boyfriends house and it was so big she was so rich

"You like this sweetheart ." Anne my mom said as she walked around

"It's big that's for sure ." I ran upstairs into my bedroom I was shocked at how big it was and I had my very own bathroom with a big tub and shower I felt so fancy and rich

I most have forgotten to mention I have a brother but he's off at college so I'm not sure how much we'll see him

"Hunny come here and meet Mike ." Anne said yelling from the stairway I walked down the stairs and seen Mike he didn't look like a bad guy but he was old he looked at least ten years older then my mom do disgusting

"Hi you must be Rose your mom has told me all about you I was hoping we could meet and listen I'm not trying to take your fathers place I just lobe your mom and want the best for you both ." Mike said giving a small smile this guy was very nice and I was happy for my mom but I had missed my dad a lot

"Uh yeah I'm Rose nice to meet you ." I said smiling

"So hun me and Mike will be going out for dinner tonight would you like to join us he's going to show me this amazing seafood place ." Anne said giggling a bit and smiling

"No thanks you know I'm not a big fan of seafood ." I said turning around and walking upstairs I ran to my room to call my brother me and him are very close he's like a best friend as well as a brother

"Thank god you answered ." I said on the phone

"Hey how's obx is it nice ." Lev said on the phone

"It is nice mom's boyfriend is pretty nice to but you know I wish dad was here ." I said on the phone

"You know he's probably looking down at you ." Lev said on the phone

Anne yells my name

"Ugh I gotta go mom's yelling for me ." I said hanging up then getting out of bed and walking downstairs

"So we are going to go to the beach for awhile I think you should explore and try to make some friends ." Anne said smiling as she put her shoes on

"But be careful you don't want to go on pouge side it's trashy and ugly don't mess with them ." Mike said looking at me then grabbing his keys

"What ." I was confused at what a pouge even is

"There's kooks and pouges your a kook rich and clean pouges are poor and dirty so don't mess with pouges at all cost ." Mike said putting his shoes on

"Uh ok not that money defines people but fine if you say so ." I said walking back upstairs they left and I started to get ready and go outside

Soon I was ready and I walked outside as I was walking I accidentally ran into some guy

"Oh shit I'm sorry ." I said helping him pick up his things that dropped

"It's fine just watch where you're going alright for future reference ." Rafe said giving me a cold and mean look

"I said sorry you don't have to be so rude about it ." I said looking him in the eyes

"Your right I'm sorry my name is Rafe it's nice to meet you ." Rafe said smiling as he heals his hand out for me to shake

I shake his hand "it's fine but I'm Rose it's nice to meet you ." I said smiling

"You know why don't I give you my number and we can hang out ." Rafe said looking at me as he wrote his name down then hands me the paper

"Okay cool ." I said smiling as he wakes away it was nice I made a friend since all my friends are in New York

I kept walking around the island and as I was walking I found a nice little bench to sit on so I set on it and started to text Rafe and as I did I watched a group of people around my age walk pasted me then stop and say

"I don't believe we've met you must be new to town ." Sarah said looking at me up and down

"Uh yeah I just moved here today ." I said slightly smiling

"I love your outfit where did you get it ." Y/n said smiling

"Probably macys ." I said putting my phone down

"What's Macy's ." Kiara said looking confused

"It's a clothing store ." I said as I stood up and put my phone in my back pocket

"You should come with us and hang out so this is John b, jj, pope, Kiara, Cleo, Y/n, and I'm Sarah ." Sarah said as she pointed to each person

"Well hi everyone I'm Rose it's nice to meet you all ." I said giving a little wave to them all i couldn't believe I had made this many friends

We all went to John bs house to hang out his house wasn't clean but that doesn't bother me a messy house or no money doesn't define people it's what's on the inside of them that matters not what there house looks like

"So if anyone hasn't told you there's kooks and pouges and they don't really get along we say no matter watch said you live on you can be a pouge ." Y/n said sitting down

"I got told not to hang around pouges that there no good ." I said looking at Y/n

"All kooks say that they try to act better by showing off there money and starting fights that can't finish ." Y/n said rolling her eyes

"So you are officially a pouge now way better then a kook oh yeah and let me warn you don't hang around Rafe he's no good ." Y/n said as she puts her arm around JJ

"Why he seemed nice I ran into him today ." I said looking at Y/n I was confused as to why he's apparently "no good"

"Well he does hard core drugs and drinks that's a big factor of it and he can be abusive ." Y/n said sighing

"Enough of Rafe so let me tell you JJ and Y/n are dating Kiara and Pope are dating and I'm dating John b ." Sarah said smiling as she looked at everyone

"Oh nice I just got out of a relationship it lasted two years ." I said looking down as I thought about my ex he broke up with me because he didn't wanna do long distance

"Oh I'm sorry that must be hard ." Sarah said hugging me I was a bit surprised I just met these people and there already acting like I'm family it was nice though

"So Sarah failed to mention it so I'll tell you myself Rafe is her brother and she hates him because he hates her it's a long story but really stay away from him he's not a good person ." Kiara said looking at Sarah

"Oh well he seemed nice when I met him ." I said looking down

"He puts on a show for new people he meets so they'll fall in his trap ." Kiara said giving me a serious look

So we all talked and had a good time then after being there for a few hours I went home and laid in bed the pouges where nice and Mike was wrong about them they was way different then he made them seem like as I was laying in bed I heard my mom and her boyfriend get home and they went to bed so I closed my eyes and started to drift off to sleep from my long day
