Nina's Pov

It had been a tough day, filled with work and dealing with some difficult people. As I drove home, all I could think about was collapsing onto my bed, wrapped up in blankets with the AC on.

But as I pulled up to my house, I could hear chaos erupting inside. My mom and nanny had unexpectedly dropped by for a visit, and I knew from experience that they could be a handful, especially after a long day at work. With a mix of worry and annoyance, I approached the door, bracing myself for the commotion that awaited me on the other side.

"Guys, either quiet down or take this outside!" I exclaimed, frustration etched on my face.

"This is how you show respect to us? We aren't your 'yaars'!" My mom retorted in typical Indian mom fashion. I couldn't help but roll my eyes internally.

"Okay, okay, Mom, sorry. But seriously, why all the yelling? It's not like we're in a courtroom," I sighed, sinking into the sofa. Being the CEO of a well-known brand isn't a walk in the park, let me tell you. Every day brings its own challenges, mostly stress.

"It's nothing, really. Oh, by the way, we have some news about the upcoming Ganpati holidays! We're going to our village, yay!" My nanny exclaimed, her excitement palpable. But as much as she seemed thrilled, I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach. With all the work piled up, I couldn't imagine finding the time to go anywhere.

"Why do I have to go? I have so much work, and it's been years since I've been there. I don't think I'll fit in anymore," I protested, feeling overwhelmed.

"No, you have to go. Nanny can't go alone," my mom commanded firmly.

"What?!" I exclaimed. I mean, come on, I'm not a child anymore. I can make my own decisions.

My mom just gave me that look, the one that said resistance was futile. I sighed, knowing deep down that even if I fought against it, I'd end up going anyway.

"Okay, fine. By car, right? I'll tell the driver to be here at 5 am sharp tomorrow morning. Are you ready, nanny?" I relented, trying to make peace with the situation.

Nanny nodded eagerly, her smile infectious. Despite my reluctance, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement at the prospect of a family vacation. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all. But first, I needed to know who else was joining us. I quickly typed a message in the family WhatsApp group, asking for everyone to be at my house by 4:30 am.

After sending the message, I headed to the bathroom for a quick shower. Returning to my bed a few minutes later, I checked my phone for replies. To my dismay, there were nine more people joining us. Well, that's just great.

With a sigh, I decided it was time to call the driver and arrange for a mini-van to accommodate everyone. I liked being organized and punctual, especially for early morning departures.

Harsh's Pov

Another year, same routine. It's like a replay of the past, with the same people and the same old stories. This year, we decided not to host Ganpati at our house, opting instead to head to my village, Palshet, nestled amidst lush greenery. It's the best place to be during this time of the year, with my neighbors hosting Ganpati celebrations at their house. They're like a second family to me, more than just neighbors; they're family friends, their warm hospitality permeating the air as we arrive.

I've arrived in my village with my brother and friends. This time, my parents had to attend a meeting in New York, so they're missing out on the festivities. They're lawyers, busy with their commitments, while I'm currently unemployed. My last boss was unbearable and rude; being an architect isn't easy, I swear, especially when creativity clashes with difficult personalities.

Getting settled in at the house was quick. Everyone found their assigned rooms and took showers after the long journey. The rustic charm of the village enveloped us, the faint scent of earth mingling with the night air. It's almost 4 am now, time to sleep. I can't wait to catch up with everyone again soon, under the comforting canopy of stars.

I woke up around 11 AM to the sounds outside. It seemed like they had arrived. Rushing out to the living area, I was initially excited to see everyone, but my grin faded when I noticed my friends  were all still asleep like animals. Opening the door, I saw a minivan parked nearby, filled with people.

Some familiar faces waved at me as they stepped out, smiling warmly. Then, a girl caught my eye. Her hazel eyes sparkled in the sunlight, and her light brown hair was tied up in a loose bun. She looked about my age and stood around 5'7. Despite her beauty, I couldn't quite place her face, which intrigued me even more.

I decided to approach the van to lend a hand with their luggage, hoping to break the ice and perhaps jog my memory about the girl who had caught my eye. As I neared, the chatter quieted down, and all eyes turned towards me.

"Hey, need a hand with those bags?" I offered with a friendly smile.

A few nods and grateful expressions met my offer, and soon I found myself helping unload suitcases and bags from the minivan. Amidst the hustle, I caught sight of her again, the girl with the hazel eyes and captivating smile.

"Hi, I'm Naomi," she replied, returning the smile, her voice carrying a hint of familiarity that I couldn't quite place.

"Hey Harsh," I greeted her warmly, trying to mask my curiosity about why she seemed familiar.

I was glad to lend a hand and learn the name of the girl.

Nina's Pov

As I stepped out of the van, I noticed a tall man standing nearby, his gaze fixed on me. I felt a flutter in my chest as I met his eyes, a warmth spreading through me as I took in his appearance.

Our eyes locked for a moment, and I could sense a connection forming between them. I couldn't help but admire the way his brown eyes seemed to light up in the sunlight, his tall frame exuding confidence and charm.

Approaching him, I felt a rush of nervous excitement. "Hi I'm Naomi," I greeted softly, a smile playing on my lips. Well this was new to me, I think.

"Hey Harsh," he replied, his voice warm and inviting.

"Thank you for helping us," I added, my gratitude sincere as I glanced towards the van where my family and friends were still busy unloading their belongings. Harsh's willingness to lend a hand hadn't gone unnoticed, and I wanted to express my appreciation.

His smile widened at my words, a hint of bashfulness flickering in his eyes.

"Of course, it was my pleasure," he replied, his gaze lingering on me for a moment longer than necessary.

I wanted to speech with me more but saw my cousin Akshay's eyes on us, I could feel a smirk forming on his face and could sense the interrogation session with him later. God, can't a cute guy talk to me for once with PEACE.
