Soobin woke up with watery eyes, still needing more sleep but he was aware he had to push himself to work. He got up and looked at Yeonjun. He was such a heavy sleeper, it made soobin smile.
Yeonjun was his whole world.
He pulled on his cheeks and
an aggressive "mm!" was heard in response to which he laughed."Aren't you such a heavy sleeper?", he said as he got up to take a shower.
He was met with Yeonjun as soon as he exit the bathroom which startled him.
"oh, Good morning."
"Mornin'", Yeonjun managed to utter.
Soobin walked back into the bathroom to brush his teeth as he forgot earlier and the door was left open so he followed him.
"Why won't you talk about it?"
Soobin was yet again disappointed. His eyes shifted as he brushed his teeth. He looked at his reflection in the bathroom mirror.
"Doesn't it intrigue you?", yeonjun continues.
"It offends me.", Soobin said.
"I know but-", he hesitated, "Does it really not interest you?"
Soobin ignored his question.
"Soobin, do you think its a joke?"
"If it is then its a sick one.", Soobin responded.
"Maybe its some kind of psychological research."
Soobin shrugged. "Could be"
"Maybe some eccentric millionaire is doing it."
"Maybe."
"Wouldn't you like to know?"
Soobin shook his head.
"why?"
"Because its immoral."
"Well, I think its intriguing."
"I'll leave for work now. Make sure to take the medicine."
Soobin set his tie around his neck and walked towards the main door.
"Take care."
As soon as he left, Yeonjun walked towards his cabinet and checked the pockets of his previously worn pants.
"Here it is.", he thought to himself.
Mr Jake's name and telephone number was printed on the card.
He kept staring at it inquisitively."Why am I doing this?" he thought.
Just before five he dialed the number.
"Good afternoon," said Mr Jake's voice.
Yeonjun almost hung up but restrained himself. He cleared his throat.
"This is Yeonjun."
"Yes, Mr Yeonjun," Mr Jake sounded pleased.
"I'm curious."
"That's natural," Mr Jake said.
"Not that I believe a word you told us. "
"Oh, its quite authentic.", he answered.
"Well whatever-" Yeonjun swallowed. "Would you be able to send it again?"
Mr Jake smiled at this. "Of course."
[6:00 P. M KST]
The bell rung amd the package was lying by the front door. He glared at the carton as he unlocked the door. He was nervous again.
"I just won't take it in.", he thought to himself.
He went into the kitchen to make dinner. He couldn't get his mind off the damn box. So he walked towards the package and picked it up. He placed it in a cabinet in the kitchen.
He sat in the loving room, staring out the window. Later, he went back into the kitchen to turn the cutlets in the broiler.
Soon the bell rang, it was Soobin. He opened the door to find that Soobin was sweating.
"Why are you sweating so much??"
"Its nothing much. I just had to do some practical work in the laboratory."
"Oh, I see. Let me wipe it off.", Yeonjun brought a napkin close to his forehead but Soobin stopped him.
"Theres no need. I'll take a shower."
"mhm."
And so Soobin went to the bathroom.
Yeonjun was worried about him. His job was already very difficult but Soobin still decided to work a second job to meet their financial needs. This urged him press the button greatly.Yeonjun sat on the dinner table quietly. Soobin came back with a towel around his neck.
"Mm, what's that delicious smell?," he said as he placed himself on a chair.
"Did you make all this?" he smiled.
"eat well..!", yeonjun blushed.
Yeonjun couldn't register when soobin walked closer to him but he found his lips connected to him immediately.
"Well done, " Soobin pulled back praised him as he ruffled his boyfriend's hair.
"but make sure you don't do heavy work, alright?", he sat back on his seat.
Yeonjun nodded happily.
Soobin picked up a fork.
"Maybe some crazy millionaire is playing games on people."
Soobin quietly put his fork down.
"I don't understand you."
"What does that mean?"
"Let it go."
Yeonjun ate in silence. Suddenly, he put his fork down. "Suppose its a genuine offer?", he said.
Soobin stared at him.
"All right, suppose it is?" He looked incredulous. "What would you like to do? Get the button back and push it? Murder someone?"
Yeonjun looked shocked. "Murder."
"then how would you define it? Yeonjun,"
"If you don't even know the person?", Yeonjun said.
Soobin looked astounded. "Are you saying what I think you are? "
"If its some old chinest peasent tem thousand miles away? Some diseased native in the congo? How about some baby boy in Pennsylvania?" Soobin countered. "Some beautiful little girl in the next block?"
"Stop exaggerating things, Soobin. "
"The point is, Yeonjun." he continued, "Whats the difference who you kill its still murder."
"No soobin, the point is," he broke in, "If it's someone you've never seem in your life and never will see, someone whose death you don't even have to know about, you still wouldn't push the button?"
Soobin looked horrified, "This is not the Yeonjun I know."
"Fifty thousand dollars, Soobin."
"What has the amount--"
"Fifty thousand dollars, Soobin. " He interrupted. "A chance to take that trip to Japan we've always talked about."
