Squawk kept on watch, staring at the moonlit forest and the lush greenness and silver of its leaves and forest floor. He was thinking of what Flight had said. Change names...what? Squawk scratched his beak quickly. If we change names...I will be Squawking Bird, leader of FeatherFlock! Squawk nurished the thought slowly. Molly should be named my second in command bird, Broad Feather. And Lily, Lily Fall. Squawk saw that dawn was coming, and he silently padded into his home. "Molly! I have an idea for FeatherFlock." Squawk cawed happily, blushing as her eyes opened and stared at him. "What?" She replied. He ruffled his wings and said, "Well, i've been thinking. We need different names. I was thinking of me being leader, named: Squawking Bird. You, my second in command, named Broad Feather. Lily could be named, Lily Fall." He replied cheerfully, flapping his wings. "Oh Squawk...how would this Flock thing work out? I mean, I don't understand how this would help us. Can't we just be normal, ordinary birds?" Molly said sadly, his daughter stumbling out. "But Molly... I thought you liked the Flock idea. It has helped us so much...how could you think its... well, having you saying ordinary birds... doing this, we could be legendary! Just please Molly, help me create the new generations..." He cooed, feeling left out and unsupported. Lily looked up at him with closed eyes, while Molly stared at him. "Its a good idea but...changing names? We're birds, Squawk. Respect that... our ancestors can't do anything to make us make Flocks and so..." Molly murmured sadly; Squawk felt helpless. "Well, deal with it. Your mother, Flight, told me to create Flocks. It may be bloody, hard, survival-based, but thats what makes birds. Teaming together is what matters! Please Molly," He said, feeling ignored. Molly sighed and nodded her head; Squawk remembered that tonight was the gathering of birds. "Is Lily old enough to fly?" He whispered to Molly, his eyes brighting. "Maybe...lets try it." Molly picked up Lily and Lily's sleepy eyes opened and she squawked in surprise; Molly hanged her over the branch, and he heard her murmuring that Lily would make it... then Molly let go and Lily dropped down, then shooted up into the air, flying naturally. "I can fly!" Lily squeaked. Squawk and Molly exchanged happy glances. "Good job, Lily!" Squawk exclaimed, then added in a whisper to Molly, "this is a sign, Molly. We can finally make FeatherFlock." When Molly nodded, his eyes gleamed happily. "Then let a meeting begin!" Squawk flew up to a high branch that overlapped the branch below, with no leaves and cover except for the leaves overhead, and perched there, almost bursting with excitement. As Molly and Lily gathered, Squawk began. "Okay, FeatherFlock! Time for a change! I am now your leader, Squawking Bird. Molly, your now my second in command, known as Broad Feather; and Lily...since your young and still need to learn, you'll be Lily Talon. An apprentice in training. Broad Feather, you now mentor Lily Talon." Squawking Bird squawked cheerfully. New life, new names, how good is this?
