[ Writers note: In honor of May the 4th, I present to you the following story. This is just for a bit of celebratory fun and not a part of the ongoing story. I really didn't think I'd be writing two of these, but here we go. Please enjoy this fever dream of a chapter]

You are settled in the Marauder currently on Chandrila. You have just finished your date with Tech and are laying in bed feeling defeated. You hear some thumping steps and you look up to see Gonky coming down the hallway from the front of the ship. His boxy frame is barely outlined in the dim lights of the ship. The few lights and sensors acting as his eyes and voice box blink red and yellow as he approaches.

You carefully slide off your bunk, standing up and quietly walk towards the oncoming Gonk droid. As you pass by the blanket wall that had been tucked up to keep it open, you let it down. Tech was obviously asleep, so you didn't want to disturb him. You could also see that the others had yet to return from their evening adventure. You felt tired but Gonky rarely sought you out like this so you knew it must be important.

"Gonk" the droid said "gonk gon gonk".

"Then lets talk outside" you reply not wanting to disturbed Tech.

Gonky nods his box head forward before turning on his two stubby legs and heading back out the hallway towards the cockpit and then down the ramp onto the ship landing. You following him, taking precautions to lock the doors as you went and take an access key before stepping of the ship.

The last you had gotten to speak intimately with Gonky had been on Ord Mantell, but you had continued to find companionship with the droid throughout this time. Gonky had always remained with the ship but he had found delight in the joy of exploration with the rest of you. Naturally his divine power kept your ship and its occupants from any major dangers, but he had struggled with the more tense situations that had arisen. Given his power he could have easily maintained moral, but doing so would have been creepy and given the group an 'uncanny' happiness in those stressful and upsetting times. Gonky, even thought he didn't like seeing the group sad had done his best to let everyone process their emotions without interference.

Gonky had also been cautiously keeping tabs on you while traveling and was very glad you were now at a point of accepting and returning to the force. He had felt and known of the sad emptiness that had settled into your heart and was glad to see you reconnect and dispel it. Likewise when you had been attacked by the clone Hyena, Gonky used his abilities to stabilize your body and make sure that you would recover. It was the least he could do to prevent his divine wrath from destroying Hyena entirely.

In other areas Gonky had been keeping track of each member of the Bad Batch as he usually did and was glad to see everyone was getting along. Hunter was a steady leader, Omega was starting to grow up and mature well. Wrecker was the usual strong man, and Gonky was glad that he could help Wrecker stave off boredom by being a weight for him to lift. Gonk missed Echo, but could sense great things unfolding in the galaxy and knew that Echo was where he needed to be. Of course there were also emotions unfolding with Tech, and while it made Gonky a little jealous he was glad Tech had begun to learn and grow in his emotional intellgence.

Then there was you.

Gonky was so proud of you.

If he had the chance to say anything it would have been "gonk gon go gonk gon gon" [Intergalactic Translation: I knew you were strong enough, you've done well]. Between the different events that had occurred, each testing your mental and emotional fortitude, Gonky had done his best to be ready in case anything went south. The attack and run in with the inquisitor both felt awful as Gonky knew and watched them played out. But he had seen through his omnipresence that you would survive, you would grow stronger ... it was a necessary evil. It hadn't made watching you cry and bleed and run any easier but it had given him some direction on how to support you through those times, even without your knowledge. You had come so far, and Gonky just wanted to remain by your side as long as he could.
