Summer of 2000.
"SAY MY NAME, SAY MY NAME..." the infectious rhythm of Destiny's Child hit single echoed through the earbuds plugged into Esther's portable cassette tape player. She hummed along with the melody, a contented smile playing on her lips. Leading the children's Bible study class had filled her with a sense of fulfillment, but now she was eager to switch gears and indulge in some personal time. The thought of a shopping spree at the mall and a leisurely lunch excited her.
