Chapter 36: An Invitation

Third Person's POV

Sa loob ng dormitoryo ng Sirius Knights, nakahiga si Cole sa sofa at puno ng pagkadismaya ang kaniyang mukha. “It's so bad that I didn't get to show what I discovered during our three weeks of training,” he mumbled.

“Don't worry, Cole. There are still three more quarterly exam battles ahead of us. You'll have your chance to shine.” anang kakambal nitong si Koa na naka-upo naman sa isang sofa katabi ng kay Cole.

Nalani emerged from the kitchen, a knowing smile on her face. “Actually, Koa, there are four exam battles in total. Don't forget about the final battle at the end of the year.”

Syria na kanina pang nasa sulok ay sumali sa usapan habang hawak ang isang supot ng pritong patatas. “Ugh, another three weeks of training? I can't handle it anymore.”

Zeno is sitting on the floor with a stack of old papers in front of him, then he looked up after letting out a heavy sigh. “I heard a rumor that the training sessions will be reduced to two weeks from now on. Nalani's eyebrows forrowed as she remembered something. “Hey, are we going to watch Sheia and Tania in their exam battle today?” she asked with curiosity on her eyes.

Napa-upo naman sa pagkakahiga duon si Cole habang may ngiti sa mga labi. “Let's go! We have to cheer for them.” anito.

“Nope, we can't. Ilalabas daw sila ng academy. Mukhang ginawang mission ang exam nila at ibabase sa resulta nito at masasabi ng mga witnesses ang magiging marka nila.” paliwanag ni Zeno na nakatuon pa rin ang atensyon sa mga papel.

Nalani's face fell as Zeno delivered the disappointing news. Sabik pa man din siya na mapanood ang dalawa para may matutunan sa laban ng mga ito. Ang kaisipang nawalan sila ng oportunidad para magawa yun ay napakabigat.

“Really? They're sending them on a mission instead of allowing us to observe and learn from their battle?” Nalani sounds so disappointed and the hint of frustration is evident in her.

Koa sighed, understanding the reasoning behind the decision but still feeling this undeniable regret. “It makes sense, I suppose. The higher-ups want to test their abilities in a real-world scenario. It's just a shame that we won't be able to see them in action.”

Suddenly, Cosima jumps up from behind the couch, causing Koa to startle as well as the others. “What are you looking at, Zeno?” tanong nito at umupo sa braso ng sofa.

Zeno turns around, holding out the old papers to Cosima and the others. As they each take a closer look, realization dawns on their faces.

“Oh no,” Nalani groans, recognizing the official invitation to the banquet dinner three days from now.
