Chapter 1 - A New Beginning

Rex's POV

[Unknown Forest]

I don't know where I am right now. As I open my eyes, I just saw a big group of trees around me. This is not the ceiling that I usually see when I wake up in the morning. I can feel my headache which I don't remember the cause for some reason. I didn't follow any direction and just walked around since I got nothing to do.

A few hours had passed and I'm still here in this huge forest. I don't see anything weird in particular aside from the usual rabbits, deer and a few birds flying around.

Until I smelled something familiar. There's no way I can just deny that I'm not thirsty. It took a while and I stumbled upon a giant lake that is still within the forest. The water is crystal clear, and it seems safe to drink since I can see some goose drinking in it. It really is a nice view for a while, and it is very refreshing.

"This view is very nice..." (Rex)

The water is light too. I can think that my little journey is worth for a little drink of water. I'm lucky that I chose to just walk rather than to just dehydrate myself to death.

It might be weird that I forgot about everything, but I at least know my name. My name is Rex, a typical human being. I just don't know how I just got here, and I don't remember everything in my past for some reason. I tried to remember while walking to this lake, but I had no luck.

This is infuriating. I better walk around to gather some information. After I rest for a little bit, I guess.

[Wisdom Castle, Wisdom Territory]

I can't believe what just happened last night...

<<<Flashback

There is a celebration last night in the Wisdom Castle for the king's birthday, when something weird just happened. While everyone was celebrating, a loud rumbling of the earth occurs while a series of lightning and thunder made the guests panicked in fear.

"Please stay calm! We will be okay as long as you calm down and leave the departure preparations for us" (Guard)

With the help of the guards, they guided the guests safely outside the castle. Luckily, no one was injured from the said incident. Although, that left us skeptical, especially that I felt that series of lightning just hit the same place over and over until it stopped for some reason. As part of the royal family, this is the matters that I shouldn't ignore. With my insistence, a meeting was suddenly upheld right at that moment.

[Meeting Hall, Wisdom Castle]

"This is the threat from the spirit of nature! We must repent from everything we all did!"

"You better be quiet; you know that is not the case. You better not conclude anything early since we have no proof just yet!"

"What if it this is the revenge from the elves? We knew they specializes in elemental magic, right?"

This is getting nowhere. I did say that I'm going to lead the meeting, but these nobodies are just spewing nonsense as soon as the meeting started. Even the king himself just got quiet as these goons just starting to state opinions of themselves just to make these conversations instead of thinking with their clear head. I guess the fear got into their head.

But I kept thinking, that if said incident has its own purpose why it happened. As I'm still thinking about the reasons, a piece of paper suddenly passed on me. I looked at it and it wrote some useful details about the said incident.
