Last Chapter Recap - Owen

My head was spinning from all these rules. It was like living with Mommy and Daddy all over again.

Maybe I didn't want to stay here.

Maybe I didn't love our new castle house.

—----------------------------

I was woken up by a screaming June which was not my favorite way to wake up.

She was out of breath like she had just sprinted a mile. She had tears on her face "Help .... Help, Janae..." Was all she could get out between her hyperventilating and crying.

Oakley and I were of course immediately very concerned. What was wrong with Janae and why was June so distressed?

"June breathe, you are hyperventilating and going to make yourself sick. Where is Janae and what is wrong?" Oakley said very calmly however the quick rise and fall of his chest suggested he felt otherwise.

"The.. the.. Hallway. Her dress..... Her back..." She managed to stumble out.

I ran out the door as fast as I could after that. Oakley close behind me trying to drag June with him.

I immediately knew what my sister had done. We had talked about it the day before but I had told her no.

She wanted to start taking some of our punishment and she wanted to get it all over with before Oakley had the chance to try and take any. She said that the only way we would be able to do it without him finding out was to do it in the middle of the night when he was asleep because he would never allow it.

However, I assume she didn't plan on passing out in the middle of the hallway.

"JANAE!" Oakley screamed. "No, No, NO!"

All three of us jumped down onto our knees beside our sister. I started to shake her to try and get her to wake up.

Her back was horrible looking. It was a dark dark red. Lash marks covered almost all of her previous soft pale skin.

Oakley was now also practically hyperventilating with rage. This might be the most angry I had ever seen him.

June was still a sobbing mess but I was more focused on trying to move Janae off of the floor.

"We need to move her to her room," I said and then scooped her up trying to be very mindful of her back. I placed my arms underneath her neck and behind her knees. Cradling her face into my chest.

I could tell Oakley was slightly jealous that I got to hold her however he was far too angry to be handling her in such a delicate state.

"It's okay Jae, I've got you," I whispered to her as I headed toward her room.

I gently placed her on her stomach on the bed. I then got down by her head and tried to wake her up by rubbing my fingers through her hair. "Come on Janae you're okay. We need you to wake up."

She then slowly opened up her eyes. "Oliver?"

I sighed in relief. Not that I had any worry that she wasn't going to wake up. It brought me peace to see that she was awake.

"Hi, Janae. I see you made a bad choice. Oakley looks like he is about to burn the house down."

A small smile spread across her face, "I'm not sorry I did it and I will be going again."

That's when Hot Head responded "Like hell you will. I never ever want you to ever do something so stupid again Janae. I swear I will kill you if you ever do anything like that again. That goes for any of you!" He yelled out the last bit.
