─❝And I thought you were different❞

[I'll be keeping this chapter short!]

𝐓𝐡𝐞 secret garden, you and your best friend's secret spot, the secret garden was elegantly beautiful every spring. You walk around the garden, the trees fluttering gently to the ground with each whisper of the wind. Sunlight filters through the canopy, casting a warm, amber glow. Squirrels scurry about, busily collecting acorns, while birds flock together, preparing for their journey south.

You walk around some more, embracing the fall. However, you come to a stop when you come across a single crimson flower. There, a solitary red spider lily stands, surrounded by a circle of white flowers that creates a halo of purity and serenity.

"EMILY!"

"What!?"

They yelled at each other even though they weren't far apart.

"Look at this!" You pointed with your finger at the red spider lily, grinning happily at your new discovery.

"You lucky girl!" She giggles as she approaches the flower and observes it. "She is pretty!" Emily reaches for the crimson flower.

You walked beside her and observed the flower as well

"I know! This is my first time seeing one in real life! I thought it only existed in anime or manhwa," you began rumbling

"Emily, did you know that red spider lily represents death and rebirth? Also, I first saw it in the anime okyo Ghoul, which is super duper cool!" You rambled more, not noticing your best friend had disappeared from your side, too focused on babbling about the red spider lily.

Once you noticed she was gone, you heard a sharp piercing noise, a sudden jolt of agony sending shockwaves coursing through your body. A sharp, stabbing pain erupted from your back, at first there was confusion, a sense of disorientation as you struggled to comprehend what was happening.

Then, as the truth dawns upon you, a wave of realization crashes over your senses like a tidal wave.

You lie on the ground, your gaze falling upon your best friend, who holds a bloodied knife and wears a cold, expressionless face.

"Wha-" Your breath caught in your throat, a strangled gasp escaping your lips as your eyes widened in shock.

Every breath becomes a struggle, as the gravity of the situation sinks in.

"Fuck"

"Fuck"
