Darkness. That's all you can see when you come to, just pitch-black darkness. You wonder what could have happened to you, but you're currently too tired, too in pain to figure it out right this moment. You try to open your eyes, but your eyelids are too heavy to stay open long enough to make out what on earth that blinding white light is.

Could you be dead? You don't feel dead but then again you haven't died before so there was no way for you to actually know that. That question lingered in your mind for a good while, going back and forth about the possibilities of both where you are and what state of being you're currently in.

The pain and tiredness are starting to be too much to fight against and you slip back into unconsciousness, deciding your well-being was for future you to deal with. God, it's been so long since you've last gotten a good night's sleep.

(time/skip)

You wake up again to a faded light, your eyes aren't so heavy anymore so you open them, taking a moment to reorient yourself. When you decide to try sitting up, your brain is assaulted with a sudden burst of vertigo, making the world spin for a moment as you feel some bile worming its way up your dry throat. After a few minutes of dizziness, you look around, taking in your surroundings.

How in the fuck did you manage to end up in a cave???

At least you think it could be a cave, as you were surrounded by corroded dirt walls that were covered in wild all-encompassing vines and cracks. You look up and see a big hole in the ceiling of what seems to be another cave.

Huh.

Maybe you fell? it'd make sense all things considered as you doubt you would have come through the door over by your left. Wait door-??

You almost give yourself vertigo again with how fast your head snapped to look to your left. there was a door! Maybe it leads to a way out? holy shit, maybe you'll be okay! You scramble to your feet before collapsing with a gasp of pain.

Jesus fuck that hurt--Maybe you didn't get out of that fall without any permanent damage. you lay on your stomach, gasping and groaning. You feel like you got hit by a bloody bus, which considering you fell from like, three stories up, is understandable. How you even managed to live through that is honestly astounding.

After a long time, you decide to try getting up again, this time going as slow as your aching muscles will let you. using the wall as a crutch you hobble over to the door, hunched over and limping slightly since standing up straight causes you to almost cry in pain. You manage to reach the door and cautiously peak into the room. you're not stupid, you know you could be in a dangerous situation, and being injured puts you at a severe disadvantage.

You hear someone crying, soft sobs filling your ears. how didn't you notice the crying beforehand? You should probably work on your situational awareness. You look around the room trying to see who could be crying, but it's very dim and you need to squint your eyes a bit to see properly.  There, in the middle of the room, you see a small patch of yellow flowers. One of the flowers was bigger than the other and seemed to be drooping a bit, slightly swaying as its leaves shuddered with each sob.
