"Jungkook, please stop, don't say things you're going to regret," Taehyung's voice quivered, the cracks beginning to show in his usually composed demeanor.
"They ripped me apart, I'm nothing to you, I'm nothing to my own parents,"
Jungkook's voice wavered, his facade crumbling before Taehyung's eyes like fragile glass.
"Stop asking me I won't tell you anything," jungkook tone turned accusatory as he struggled to contain the storm raging within him.
He needed Taehyung to just walk away, to spare them both from the wreckage of his unraveling emotions. "I know that I don't matter to anyone."
Taehyung looked at Jungkook in disbelief. "How could you say this to me?"
"I gave you so many promises, I promised to help you with everything, " Jungkook's voice was a mere whisper, his gaze fixated on the floor as if unable to meet Taehyung's eyes. "I gave you false hope and now I can't even-"
"It wasn't false hope," Taehyung's voice cut through. "I know you meant it when you said you'd marry me."
"Tae, I can see the disappointment on your face," Jungkook's frustration was palpable, his hand running agitatedly over his face as if trying to erase the
lines of anguish carved there. "Fuck, I..." he trailed off, pausing momentarily.
"I know you," Jungkook's gaze finally rose to meet Taehyung's teary eyes. "I know you better than anyone else and you know it."
"I can see it, I can feel it," Jungkook's gaze was penetrating,
as if his own eyes were dissecting each emotion on Taehyung's face. "You can't lie to me."
"I'm not a gold digger," Taehyung's voice dropped, the weight of Jungkook's implied accusations suffocating him.
"That's not what I-" Jungkook's attempt to explain was cut short.
"No, wait, just listen to me for once," Taehyung's hand moved through the air in a sweeping gesture, a silent plea for Jungkook to halt his defenses and truly hear him out.
"I always listen to you," Jungkook protested.
"You don't," Taehyung's retort was sharp, his gaze locked onto Jungkook's with a fierce intensity. "Listen to yourself accusing me of all these things."
Jungkook took a hesitant step closer to Taehyung, his movements cautious yet determined
"Look me in the eye, and tell me you didn't feel that disappointment when I left you."
Jungkook stood in silence, the weight of Taehyung's words bearing down on him like an unbearable burden,
each word piercing through the fragile facade he had desperately clung to.
"There you go," Jungkook's voice dripped with bitterness, a sardonic edge to his words. "You got your answer."
Taehyung's gaze remained fixed on his feet, the ground beneath him suddenly feeling unsteady as he fought with the flood of emotions threatening to overwhelm him.
With a heavy heart, he finally looked up, the tightening grip of dread constricting around his chest like a vise.
"Is that what you want?" Taehyung murmured, attempting to hold back his tears. "Do you want me to leave?"
"Tae, I just need you to leave from my life," Jungkook's words were tinged with desperation
"I want you to leave me alone with my thoughts for once, why can't you give me that?"
