The First Agreement

„Morning, bestie!“ I turned around to see Edd. I found myself quickly looking around for Matt. „Are you looking for someone?“ Edd asked as he took out the pack I gave him yesterday. „Yeah.. Matt.“ I said and Eddie smiled, lightly punching me in the arm. „I was talking to you, not Matt.“
„Oh..“ Eddie lit up his cigarette and I smiled as I was smoking too. „Early again?“
„Mother dearest doesn't seem to take a grasp of her work schedule.“ I said and Eddie laughed. „Well, good! At least we got to see each other again, right?“
„Right.“
„So I was thinking we should go get a drink!“
„Sure.“

„And than I said to him that he shouldn't be so self centered and he flipped!“ Eddie was shit-talking Tom as we two were sitting on ground. Right next to us was a tree he was leaning on. „Doesn't sound like a good friend.“
„I mean he is but sometimes it's just too much.“
„You don't need to say that just because you care about him I mean if he's a shitty person then he's a shitty person.“ I said and Edd nodded. „You ever kiss Matt?“
„What?“ Eddie asked, confused. „I mean you guys look like a couple sometimes.“
„Oh! Oh it's not like that at all!“
„But you want it to be like that?“
„I don't think so..?“ I smirked. „Ever kissed someone else?“
„Just this girl in elementary school-“ He said and I smiled. „No way you never had a real kiss?“ I asked, surprised and he nodded to disagree. „I mean out of all people you? You're like the kindest guy I know girls should be falling for you all the time!“ Edd laughed as it made him feel good about himself. „Fuck it I'll spare you of those wonders and kiss you right now!“
„You don't have what it takes.“ Eddie said and his little tease made me actually kiss him. It was a long kiss. He didn't know what to do at first but he got into it pretty quickly. I sat back down. „So how was it?“ He was still shocked. „Wow.. I mean.. good.. It was good but I never imagined myself to get my first kiss with a boy..“
„Oh this wasn't a kiss just wait till a chick gives you french kiss. That'll be a real kiss.“ I smirked. „You're not gay are you?“
„I don't think so.“
„Good. My firsts always fall for me.“ Eddie frowned and as he did he managed to give me a little smirk. „How many guys did you kiss?“
„Many.“ I lit up a cigarette. „Can I get a smoke too?“ He asked. „Sure, thing. You know when you asked me to go out for drinks I thought you meant alcohol but this sure is nice.“
„Yeah. Just quiet without Matt and Tom here.“ Matt was sick and Tom kindly declined - meaning he told us to go fuck ourselves and that he has better things to do. For some time, we didn't have anything else to say to each other. Just two guys smoking, facing each other, no words. I'm not sure whether it was awkward or calm. I would have to ask Eddie to know how he felt because for the next fifteen minutes no one had anything to say. I didn't have a need to, Eddie looked like he was thinking. We were chatting for two hours straight before this rapid change.

Me and Eddie exchanged socials. In his profile on instagram I found Matt and Tom, following them as well. Even if me and Eddie didn't have what to talk about outside that guy could go whole night not sleeping just to answer my text. We were shit-talking Tom again. How he would come to class tomorrow looking like he just died. How he would ignore everyone or would be mean. How Matt wouldn't know how to count 5 plus 5 and how the whole class would just sigh at it along with the teacher..

The next day I came a little later to school as my mom didn't have to bring me so early. As I entered the class Edd smiles at me. „Tord!“ He hinted with his hand that I should come sit next to him, so I did. „Matt felt ill so you can sit with me!“
„Sure.“ Eddie was all happy that I sat there while the first thing I noticed is that Tom wasn't wearing his headphones. He was ob the phone as if he was pretending we weren't even there. „On the other hand I should probably sit next to Tom.“
„Why? He doesn't like you anyway!“
„Wow. And you call me rude.“ Tom smirked as he joined the conversation. „Well it's the truth. You dislike Tord like.. a bunch.“
„I didn't say it wasn't truth. Just next time maybe think about inviting me to your seat first. You know? Your friend Tom?“ As he was talking he stood up and almost left class, but after his last sentence he looked at Edd before he vanished. „I don't know why he is so angry these days..“ Eddie didn't know but I did. He was feeling like I was taking his place. There could be some truth to that. I mean just four days and Edd is already as if we were friends since forever. „Shouldn't we check up on him?“
„I'll go.“ Eddie said and left as well.

Tom was angry with me all day, but it seemed as if he was fine with Edd. Well you can never tell because he's being an asshole either way.  I didn't blame Edd for inviting me to sit over instead of Tom. Tom was tiring. Taking up everyone's happiness all the time. If he wasn't happy, no one could be. Lunch this day seemed to be better as the one yesterday, so we ended up sitting in the cafeteria. „Did Matt ever tell you guys what happened?“
„He said he has been throwing up. Maybe a flu?“ Eddie answered. „Shouldn't we stop by? Bring him schoolwork?“
„Don't worry instagram has got him. I'll send it over later.“ He said. „What are you doing guys after class?“ I looked at Tom, Eddie too.
„Sleeping.“ He said. „Don't you wanna go out with us?“
„We're going out today?“ I asked surprised. „Yeah.. I mean yeah right?“ I nodded and Tom rolled his eyes. „You know unlike you Edd.. instagram isn't enough comfort for me so I'm gonna check up on Matt. Enjoy your date.“ Tom said and he stood up and left. „Guess he's still mad..“
„Jealous is what he is.“ I answered Edd.„Same spot?“
„Sure.“ Edd said, no smile. I looked in his phone. He was texting Matt if he's okay. „You look stressed. I'll buy us a bottle.“

Eddie didn't know what I meant by bottle. Until I got out of a store and showed him what I bought. „Smirnoff? How did you even managed to buy alcohol.“
„Fake ID. At least we'll know what makes Tom crave it so much.“
„Maybe just one sip.“

Eddie didn't stop with one sip because just one cheered him up. Another two made him laugh a bunch. Three more and he was dancing. „With no music?“ I asked laughing as I saw drunk Edd dance to.. literally nothing. „Put something on- no I know! Let's hit a party!“
„A party?“
„Yeah!“ He said. It was only six o'clock. No parties at a time like that. „Well there is a concert ten minutes away from us.“ I said, searching event this day. „Let's go then!“ He said happily and was already picking me up from ground. He fell. „Come on let's go.“ I helped him up as I stood up as well, leading us the right way.

Morning I was up pretty soon. More like I didn't sleep. After the concert we finally hit a bar.. kind of did a bunch of ectasy. I won't go to details. When I came to class Edd was already sitting there, his head resting on the table. I sat next to him. As I did he looked at me, he looked truly horrible. „Did you get any sleep?“
„No.. you?“
„Not really. Got home okay?“
„Yeah, my mom worked night shift so nobody noticed anything.“ He said, as if he was minutes from falling asleep. „You look horrible, Edd.“ I looked up, seeing Tom who looked.. well.. more angry then concerned. „Morning, Tom.“ Edd said, sitting down like a normal person, his head not resting on the table like it did before. „What did you guys do?“
„What do you think we did, Tom? We drank. That's what we did.“ He said, annoyed. Tom only rolled his eyes and sat down. „I regret nothing.“ Eddie smiled to himself, he looked like he was stoned. „Sure, Edd.“ Tom said smirking. „Let's get high and drunk all three together the next time.“ I suggested and to my surprise Tom kept his smirk on his face. „You know, that might be the first time I would agree to do something that involves you.“ said Tom.
