Jennie surveyed the room. Lush and extravagant, that is how she would describe it. Also mostly missed the point, mixed with a few over the top hideous "notice me" eyesores.
What was not hideous, nor an eyesore, was the gorgeous woman that had entered her line of vision.
Jennie tipped back her glass of champagne, while making eye contact with the beautiful blonde.
The two gravitated towards each other. Meeting in a tight, but quick hug. "Rosie that dress looks magnificent on you. Totally nailed this year's theme."
Rosie smiled and plucked the glass from Jennie's hand. Before taking a drink she responded, "And you look absolutely ravishing in blue."
After a healthy sip, she placed the glass back in Jennie's hand, leaned in and whispered, "And unwrapping and ravishing you later is what I plan on doing instead of sleeping my beauty."
Jennie choked on air. Rosie patted her back gently and joined in conversation with several people that had gathered around to talk to them.
Once they had another moment alone, Jennie turned to the younger girl, ran her finger along her collarbone and was about to unleash her revenge when something caught her eye.
Something in Rosie's eye to be exact. Jennie pressed her hand to Rosie' cheek and moved closer.
Rosie's knew that there would be some recourse for her earlier behaviour, but usually Jennie was more subtle. Their sudden closeness had gathered attention. She stuttered, "Uh Unnie, we have an audience."
Jennie didn't seem to hear or care. She stepped impossibly closer, almost flush. "There is something in your eye." Unsure she tilted Rosie's head back, "A spot or something."
By this time both of their assistants had made their way to their sides. "Alison do you have a mirror?"
Alison dug through her bag and handed her a mirror. Jennie stepped back and handed it to Rosie.
Rosie didn't take it, "Yes, I noticed it a few days ago. Probably from all the traveling and lack of sleep." Jennie was not having it, "We were traveling more and sleeping less on tour."
She reached up as if to touch Rosie's cheek again, but stopped as she felt eyes on them.
She turned, gave the mirror back to Alison, then moved to stand back beside the taller girl. Alison let them know Lisa had arrived.
Jennie took a sip and pretended to survey the room again. "Does it hurt?"
Rosie took the glass of champagne her assistant handed her, "It is a little itchy and hurts from all the camera flashes." She bumped her hip against the shorter girl, "Good thing you sent me all those sunglasses."
Jennie did not smile, "You need to see a doctor. Promise me you will." Rosie heard the worry in her voice so she promised she would, as soon as they get back home. She wrapped her arm around the older girl's shoulder, "Now let's go find our Lalisa."
Several hours of mixing and mingling later, the girls of Blackpink, minus Jisoo, are done with networking. They are ready to head back to their hotel.
They shared a car, reminiscing about the old days when earlier in their careers they didn't all have their own homes to go to and separate careers to tend too. Just the four of them against the world.
Sure this is what they worked so hard for and the money made life easier, but their lives became a fish bowl.
The love from and to their fans was immeasurable but it also made falling in love impossible.
No, not impossible, just unsharable as an idol. Especially in Jennie and Rosie's case.
Although they know the majority of Blinks would be happy for them, there would be enough, along with the haters that were already there, that they can't share their love story with the world.
Rosie wanted to shout from the rooftops that she had found her duet partner for life and Jennie wanted to let the world know she had found her protective, supportive, princess charming.
But sadly, for now, this fairy tale has to come to an end, without sharing their happy ending.
