Chapter 6

As Ace made his way through the school library, his gaze fell upon Lili, who was nestled in a corner with a book in hand. He hesitated for a moment, nerves fluttering in his stomach, before gathering his courage and approaching her.

"Hey, Lili. Mind if I join you here?" Ace's voice wavered slightly, betraying his uncertainty.

Lili looked up from her book, her face breaking into a warm smile at the sight of Ace. "Of course, Ace! Pull up a chair. How was your day?"

Ace felt a wave of relief wash over him as he settled into the seat across from Lili. "Uh, it was okay, I guess. Just the usual stuff, you know?" he replied, trying to keep his tone casual despite the nervous flutter in his chest.

Their conversation started off light, with talk of classes, teachers, and weekend plans.
