Chapter 1 - Pair with me

Her name was all over the news outlet and even across different social media, the face of Mikha Salvador is being plastered. No need to worry, she had no issue. It's just that, this woman is a well-known volleyball player and is reportedly studying at Ateneo De Manila University taking BSE English as her program.

As soon as this announcement reached the wider audience, gossip and whispers about the athlete began to scatter especially to the students of her chosen institution. Again, this happened due to her being a famous one...in a positive way.

"Here she is", Gwen pointed to an approaching Mikha.

It's the first day of class and their group decided to gather in the cafeteria. When Mikha finally got on her seat, Maloi offered her a tissue to get rid of the sweat on her face.

"You're too stubborn", A hint of annoyance came out of Maloi.

"I told you, I need to double time. First year is a crucial time for-"

"Okay", Maloi ended their conversation as she let go of her attention from Mikha. A while ago, they had the same conversation. The athlete came early at school to practice which Maloi got annoyed with. It's understandable. Today is the first day of school yet she chose to spend her time honing her skills and it somehow disappointed Maloi.

Mikha was about to respond but Gwen just signed her to stop. Maybe to lessen this unfavorable atmosphere.

"Do you have class today?" Gwen asked.

"Later" a short response came out which they have been used to ever since. "Miks, just call me if you want to practice," Gwen suggested, which resulted in a glare from the eldest member of their group.

To add, Gwen Mendoza is also a freshman and a volleyball player who is taking AB Psychology. On the other hand, Maloi Ramos is not as sporty as the two but chose the same program as Gwen.

"Stop tolerating her", Maloi butted in the conversation but the two just ignored her.

"I feel like I need to practice my digging skills. Are you free tomorrow, Miks?"

"Argg! You two are not listening"

Gwen chuckled at Maloi's antics, "Just let her. Who knows, Mikha might snatch more awards than usual, right?"

"Whatever"

Despite all the noise about a certain person, Aiah Cezar, who is a freshman taking the same program with that famous player, remained unbothered about the news. At this moment, she is in the library having an advanced reading of their lesson later.

While jotting down in her notebook, her phone chimed in following the appearance of a message from their group chat.

"Have you read the news???"

"It was all over the internet!"

"I never thought she would end up within the same program as Aiah"

"I mean, all of the programs out there she picked English??"

Those messages simultaneously popped up on the screen. So, she removed her earphones and furrowed at the sight of multiple rants from her friend, Stacey Cruz. Yes, those messages came only from one person.

Aiah was about to compose a reply when Colet Villanueva sent something.

"Are they in the same section?"
