Prologue

Its Monday morning,the day i have been waiting for,okay i know i sound weird because i said I've waited for Monday but who wouldn't?i mean it is my first day going to university as an official student,when i was in secondary school i hated Mondays but this particular one?no

Hey my name is Maimunatu Ibrahim and i came from a family of 4,my dad,my mum,me and my little sister Amina.
My parents are from Adamawa state but we reside in Kaduna.

My father married my mother from Adamawa and came to Kaduna because of the nature of his business and they never went back.

After three years of marriage,they gave birth to me and named me after my mother's elder sister.

Five years later,they gave birth to my sister and named her after my father's mother.....

I am 19 while my sister is 14 but we share a very good bond even though we fight sometimes,well not sometimes but most of the times.

My dad made me applied High Field University because he believes it's one of the best private universities here in kaduna,not that i don't like the school but i prefered a federal university.

My sister Amina goes to supreme college and she's currently in sss one and she's one of the best student they've got.

This is my family.....

After i stretched my body,i took a bath and headed to the parlour where i met my sister ready in her school uniform"see who's in the building!!!newest university girl in town" she screamed at the top of her voice i almost ran away.

I departed my lips to talk but got interrupted by my dad.
"Maimunatu you're ready already?"
He asked but not more like a question.

"Daddy what do you mean by already,she should have been ready decades ago given that today is her first day,i guess she'll continue from where she stopped in secondary school"

Amina said.

Well let me clarify this statement,i had always been a latecomer during my secondary school so she means i am taking that to university but who is she kidding?i am not besides i woke up early i mean this is 7:04 so i guess we can eat breakfast and leave in peace,right??.

"Daddy forget what she's saying,and yes i am ready and happy but anxious at the same time,i don't know how to react to my lecturers,my course mates,and the school in general"

I said nervously.

"Oh come on,that feeling is normal,you just have to be yourself,study and avoid bad friends and you'll be fine,just continue being the Maimunatu you are and trust me everybody would want to be your friend"

He said trying to make me feel any better.

"But daddy is she supposed to befriend everybody?" 

Amina chirped in.

"Shut up he's not talking to you,he's talking to a university student not just any random secondary school student"

I said teasingly but who am i kidding to think she'll take this as a joke.

"Any random secondary school student you said?"

She wanted to start yelling but mummy shushed her.

"Ummi keep quite and come take your breakfast,maimunatu and you,you've gotten ready early don't make this silly talks makes you late"

We all call Amina Ummi since she was named after our grandmother,and mummy is right,i might get late if i continue having this silly fight with ummi so i hurriedly went and sat on my usual spot at the dining area and began serving myself.

We started eating before mummy came up with an advice she thinks will help me,or more like an addition to what daddy has said.
"Just be careful Maimunatu,know the kind of friends you keep and keep yourself busy with your books,and the most important thing is know when to shut this wide thing you call a mouth,this is university you must not be involved in everything,kinji ni koh(hope you've heard me well?)"

"Yes mummy,but my mouth is not even big,you should tell that to Ummi"

I said trying to pick up a fight for the second time this morning.

"Are you referring to Mamana?(my mother;since she's bearing his mother's name of course)".

"No oo daddy who am i?"

I quickly said to avoid them ganging up on me.

"Tempt me and by Allah I'll tell daddy what you did"

She has finally answered and wait what was that?a threat again urghhhh.

"And what's that?"
Daddy asked but i quickly tap her laps under the dinning table so no body sees that and said"daddy its nothing plus I'm getting late to school so bye"

I said after taking a last sip of the tea i was drinking and got up.
All this to distract him from what Ummi said.

"Okay everyone in this house,Maimunatu Ibrahim is going to school now please wish her luck"

I said and turned to leave before i heard my father saying"i forgot to tell you,you'll have to drive because I'm driving Ummi to her school before going to work,so take your mother's car and drive safely"

He said and stood up to go get ready too.

"Okay in sha Allah daddy"

Mummy gave me her keys and prayed for me.
Let me not forget that she warned me to bring back her car safe to the house.
She loves that car with everything she has ever got lol.

I took the keys and zoomed off.

I know that today is going to be a very long day but who cares i am going to High Field University as a student,i still can't believe this but i am in the car driving to get there so i should believe it right??......

Okay my babies how are y'all doing and what do y'all think about this(prologue)?
Interesting yeah???

Me I'm very eager to see how her first day in university goes.
I hope she takes her mother's advice and try not to involve herself in everything(my life)😂
