Author POV

The room was dimly lit, casting a muted glow on the two figures hunched over their phones. The silence was palpable, thick and heavy, broken only by the sound of their fingers tapping on the screens. It was 1am, and the rest of the world seemed to have faded away, leaving them alone in their own little bubble. The only signs of life were the soft glow of the devices and the occasional rustle as someone shifted in their seat. The eerie stillness seemed to stretch on forever until one of them finally decided to break the silence, their voice sounding unnaturally loud in the quiet room.

"So....I am aware that you and Taehyungie oppa have been in love with each other for the past five years. However, I am curious about the details of your love story. Would you mind sharing it with me? I am eager to learn about the journey of your love and how it all started."

The other party looked up at the one who asked the question, for a while, seemingly lost in thoughts.

"I mean you can just talk casually. No need to be discreet just because I'm your sister~" Hani said with a slight chuckle.

The other one looked up at her and let out an airy chuckle before clearing his voice.

"Well..." Jeongguk said, eyes staring at a distance, lost in the nostalgic memories.

"You already knew I was a topper in school-"

"Yeah yeah, mom never shuts up about it" Hani says cutting him off in the middle.

He laughs a little before clearing his throat and continues.

"Yeah so...i went to a normal school during my primary education. You know the one where there are both boys and girls? Co-education? Yeah that one. But your aunt and uncle changed my school to an all boys one during middle and high school. I used to be too into books and marks and that was the only stuff i knew, that was what my world revolved around. I didn't have much friends, because i mostly used to mind my own business. I didn't know what crush was, love was, or that you could be attracted to people and all those stuff... My mind was so conservative. Like i used to think all girls are toppers and no girl eat's meat because you know aunt doesn't eat meat right? So i thought none of the girls eat meat too" Jeongguk said laughing at the end.

His cousin sister, Hani, Joins in and laughs with him, "Oh my my, you seriously thought that? Hahhahaha" Hani continued laughing wiping invisible tears from the corner of her eyes.

"And then?" She asks after they recover from her laughing fit.

"Hmm... And then i entered college and was honestly really shocked to see girls getting low marks and some even failing too. And the next shocking thing? Our college canteen serves non-vegetarian meals during Wednesdays and I was literally thrown away when i saw girls, 'Girls' standing in line to have them." He said, air quoting the words 'Girls'.

Hani let's out an amused chuckle and indicated him to continue.

"Yeah...You know that I wasn't into work out and dieting when i was at young and so i was basically a little chubby as a teenager. And so naturally, there were no girls swooning over me. I decided during my first year of college that it's high time i start working out and get into shape. The idea was not because i wanted to, you know 'attract girls'. I wanted to do it for myself, to feel more confident and less insecure."

Hani hummed in acknowledgment, nodding her head occasionally to let him know that she's listening.

"So yeah, by the end of third year i had lost a good amount of weight. I was toned and i changed my style a bit. Other than that nothing changed. I was still the same 'topper guy', focusing on my studies and scoring good marks."

"That's when i met him." Jeongguk said, his voice soft and eyes filled with love.
