It's 7 AM in the heart of the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur. The alarm has been snoozed for more than he can count. Any more than that, he's going to be late for work. Outside the window, the rain was pouring heavily. The temperature and mood in the studio are perfect for curling up under the cover and diving back into dreamland. But, reality is not as sweet as one could expect.

"Haaaaaaaa", Adam sighed heavily.
"I hate my life. I fucking hate it. God, I wanna die."

Well, this is out of the ordinary. Recently, Adam's mood has been rather off. The littlest thing can set him off. He thought that it was just a phase and the pouring rain outside might have been the probable cause. That could be true because honestly, most if not all people, hated the rain in Malaysia. Precisely, when it's raining cats and dogs like on that morning. So, it's easier to accuse the weather than himself.

Why? It's because he's Adam. A UK graduate with a 1st Class Degree. A high achiever. Adam has always excelled in his academics. Straight As in UPSR, PMR and SPM. Got himself a scholarship to study overseas. He travelled a lot and managed to see the part of the world that lots of people can even dream of. Active in sports and was rather fit. Everything seems to set him up for great things in life. Nothing could go wrong

So, useless emotions like depression, loneliness etc. are not expected to go through in the mind of a great guy like him. Right?

Adam sat up begrudgingly and stared at the wall in the studio that he was renting for a good 5 minutes or so. What's he thinking about? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. He wishes he could halt time and continue sleeping. But let's be honest. Those are just wishful thinking. Another long sigh and, he stands up. As he walked to the bathroom, a million things went through his head.

"Man, the paperwork hasn't finished yet... I bet Jacky will flip out. As always. And I need to take the train after this. Pretty sure it's gonna be packed. God, I'm tired..."

Adam's expression darkened. He's been feeling weird lately. Is it the work stress? Is it the food he ate last night? Or maybe that nightmare a while ago? Somehow, something changed. Adam can't quite pin it, but something... feels different. It's as if, the calm before the storm. If only he knew then. Everything will change. He'll never be able to expect the kind of hell waiting for him after this.
