One Year Later

Lilly gazed out the window of the bedroom, waiting.

The door creaked open, admitting Aymon to the room. She looked behind her, a smile lighting up her face as she rushed to plant a kiss on his cheek.

"Hello, darling. Are you ready for tomorrow?" He asked, picking her up and spinning her around.

"More ready than I've been for anything in my life." She replied confidently, her gaze shifting to her wardrobe, where a bit of white lace stuck out between the two doors.

"It's going to be beautiful, Lilly." He said, gently placing her on the bed. "I can't wait to marry the love of my life."

"Me neither. I wish tonight would pass faster."

He tapped her on the nose, chuckling. "Patience. Less than twenty-four hours, and we'll be making our vows."

"Can you believe it's been a whole year since we met?" Lilly asked, looking up into those blue eyes she loved so much.

"Hard to believe, yes. I never thought I'd fall in love with a human."

"And I never thought I'd fall in love with the monster in the woods." She replied, giggling.

Aymon took her hand, pulling her off the bed and out of the bedroom.

"Are we going where I think we are?"

"Possibly..."

He led her up a staircase that spiraled around a huge tree trunk, eventually emerging about the treetops to a sky full of stars twinkling above them.

He pulled her over to a blanket, wrapping a blanket around both of their shoulders. "I love you, Lilly. I can't wait to marry you."
