The smell of crisp summer air ran in as John opened the windows to his office. This was the first time he was in his office alone, and definitely not the last. As John was trying to gather his thoughts someone knocked on the door.
"Come in" John said. It was his accountant Miranda
"Mr. Kennedy Some news reporters from CMM are here to interview you." She said in a very monotone voice "Should I just send them off, or can you make time in your busy schedule for them?"
"Send them off please. My mind is somewhere else at the moment, and I don't think I would give the best answers to any of their questions.Tell them we can schedule something for next month if they're serious about this interview."
"Of corse Mr. Kennedy. Any specific time next month?"
"Any time will do really." John and the accountant said their goodbyes. As soon as the accountant left the room John broke down. How was he supposed to be president? Support a whole country when your only a young man. How was he supposed to be like George Washington? A noble man that fought for his country, and all John could do was sit at meetings and vote. He will never be like George.
"Pull yourself together John. A whole country is relying on you. Pull. Yourself. Together." Another knock at his door. Scrambling to his feet John opened the door.
"Miranda I swear if this is about the interview i'm-."
"Ah Mr. Kennedy sir." John stopped in his tracks. In front of him was not his accountant but someone else. Alexander Hamilton.
" I was looking for you, and your accountant told me you were in your office." Alex said. John stared in shock " why she didn't escort me here is beyond me, but she has good intentions I suppose." John and Alex locked eyes. John snapped out of his bewilderment
"right of course"John searched his mind for words
" oh right umm come in please."
"I hope you don't mind but I did bring a friend."
" no of course that's fine" John watch as Alexander walked into the office, and not to far behind him was George Washington.
"Ahh Mr. Kennedy. Such a pleasure to meet you." George said while he holds out his hand for John to shake
"nice to meet you too Mr. Washington sir." John says as he shakes Washington's hand.
"Oh please call me George"
"right, George"John couldn't believe that his idol, George Washington, was here in HIS office, and shook HIS hand. John never thought he would ever shake the hand of George Washington.
"Wow they really changed the office since the last time I've been in here" "yeah well the last time you were in here was over 100 years ago" Alex said with a playful tone
" Yeah well it doesn't feel like 100 years ago"
"over 100 years I said"
" of course Alexander I heard you. So John how does it feel to be president?"
" well it's been a lot so far, and this is only my second day here."
"Yes. That's how I felt. So much pressure on your shoulders, and at such a young age. Even I don't think I could do that, and I fought a war at your age." Something about George saying that got John going. He never realize how much he liked being praised for his good work. After a long conversation about president stuff George realized it was getting late. "Well I think Alexander and I have over stayed our welcome we should be heading now"
"really? I wouldn't mind if you guys stay." John says
"thank you, but we wouldn't want to keep you up all night" George said with a wink then headed toward the door
"well it was nice seeing you, are you free tomorrow by any chance there are other things I'd like to discuss." Alexander asked John
"of course I'm free when ever you need me"
"splendid we'll be back tomorrow. Good night john"
"goodbye, and good night Alexander" and just like that John was alone in his office once again. Later when John went home that night he couldn't sleep one thing puzzled him. Why would they keep him up all night, and why did George wink at him? One thing John knew was he would not be getting sleep tonight.
