Chapter Two

June and Noah walked through town, by this time they were pretty calm now. June sighs "You still pissed off?" Noah asks, June shrugs "Eh, I guess, but I'm pretty calm right now" Noah nods "okay, what do we do now?" June only shrugs again. "I just wanna either go home or punch Noel." June says. Noah nods "How about I take you home?" June shrugs "Sure, you should stay over" Noah smiles "Sure..Thanks". Noah takes his phone out and looks at the group chat, and reads the texts. "Hey June, Noel replied". June looks at Noah and then at his phone, "what'd he say?" his tone is unamused." Uh you should read it yourself.." Noah says. June rolls his eyes and takes his phone out as well and reads Noel's text.  "I didn't do shit, she read that herself, I tried telling her not to! So June, don't blame shit on me!" June didn't respond and only put his phone away. "Let's just get to my house and rest" Noah nods "Alright.." Noah and June walk down the street in silence, until they get to June's house, June reaches for the doorknob and then suddenly the door swings open, slamming into June's face, "OW!" June kneels behind the door holding his nose. Noah kneels with June "Holy shit! Are you alright?!" "He's alive, right?" the voice asked from the doorway "Get up, also hey Noah" he smiles. "Hey Jude" Noah waves. "I'm fine, just pissed off more…Jesus Christ that hurt.." June said as he stood up, and Noah followed. "Well..what Did Noel do now?" Jude asked. Both Noah and June stayed quiet. "Just come inside, I'm making dinner" Jude turns around and walks back into the kitchen. June walks to the staircase, and then walks up. Noah sits on the couch and stares at the floor. "Jude.." Noah hesitantly says. June stops in the kitchen doorway and looks at him. "Mm? If it's about what happened tell me when I'm finished with dinner, okay? I'll beâ€"" "Maya's dead" Noah blurts outs. Jude stares at Noah while in shock, "You're-..." Jude paused "You're fucking with me, huh?" He laughs awkwardly. Noah looks at the floor. Jude slowly turns and walks into the kitchen. Noah hugs his knees and tears up. "Noah, go ahead and check on June, dinner is going to take awhile" Noah stands up and walks to the stairs, he walks up. Noah knocks on June's door, "Come in" Noah walks over and sits next to June, who is laying on his bed. Noah holds June's hand, and June sits up. "Jude said dinner will be a while" June sighs "I'm not hungry... but I'll sit with you two, justâ€"" June pauses and thinks some "Seeing Maya like that made me sick to my stomach" Noah nods "makes sense, kinda same" Noah smiles "But Jude's cooking is the best" June smiles softly "You're right" Noah creases June's hand, June rolls his eyes, "You're so gay" he jokes. Noah smiles "Yeah, and?" June laughs some, "Alrighty, I'm done being gay with you" he pulls his hand away. Noah smiles. "Should we go see how dinner and Jude are?" "Yeah" June says. "Yeah." Noah stands off the bed and walks out of the room, with June following behind. June and Noah walk into the kitchen "Heyâ€"Jude, you okay dude?" June asked, Jude was sitting at the kitchen table staring at the plate, then looked at June, "Yeahâ€" just surprisedâ€"" he paused. Noah sits at the table with Jude. June follows "why're you two friends with Noel? He's a dumbass" June rolls his eyes, "I ask myself that always" Noah sighs "He's my cousin.." June looks dumbfounded. "That dumbass is related to you?" Noah smiles awkwardly "Not by blood" Jude laughs "Of course not by blood, you're white" Jude jokes, and Noah laughs.   June looked at his plate with a smile, "Looks good, Beef with white rice and steamed broccoli" June complimented. Noah looks at his plate and nods in agreement. "So…What happened?" Jude asked. "We'll explain after dinner" Jude announced. "Uh, sure?"

After the three were finished eating, June stood up and picked up the dishes and rinsed them off then put them in the dishwasher. "Where's your parents tonight?" Noah asked. "Working late till morning" Jude explains, "why don't we spend the night in the living room?" He suggests. "Why?" June asked, "I thought we would all feel better, by being together in the same room?" Jude spoke. "Sure" June stands up and pulls Noah to follow him. June walks up to his room, "We're going to get blankets and stuff" "Alright" Noah says. June opens his closet door and grabs blankets, hands them to Noah, then picks up his pillows and blanket from his bed. "Jude can get his own pillow" Noah nods "Okay" Noah and June walk down the stairs into the living room and Noah throws the bedding onto the floor. June does the same. June was sitting on the couch on his phone with a pissed off expression. Noah looks at Jude, Jude notices and glares at him. Noah instantly looks away.  "What's up with you?" June asked "Mm..I don't know..your dumbass 'friend' Noel" Jude said grinding his teeth. "What about him?" June asked as he was setting up a place on the floor with the blankets. Noah sat next to Jude. Jude hands his phone to Noah. He looks at the messages 'Jude and the 5 dumbasses'

"Noel, what happened?" - Jude

"It wasn't my fault! She's the one who read the dumbass passage!" - Noel

"I asked what happened, not if you were at blame, but your response sounds like it is" - Jude

"Fuck you!" - Noel

"Maya read the book before Noel could tell her not to..so it isn't Noel's fault" - Sophie

"Then why's he being so defensive about it?" - Jude 

"GO FUCK YOURSELF JUDE!" - Noel

"Danm.." Noah mumbles. "Yeah-" June sits down and stares at the floor "Noah will you tell me what happened this afternoon?" Noah nods. June lays down and faces the TV opposite from the couch. Noah explains to Jude what happened earlier in the day.

"J-Jesus Christ.." Jude stutters from shock, "You two good?" he asks Noah shrugs and points at June, "You asleep?" Jude asks "No" June rolls over and looks at the two. "You good?" June rolls his eyes "No" Noah slides off the couch on the floor with June. Jude stands up "Be right back". Noah lays down and looks at June with a soft comforting smile, June rolls his eyes with a smile "Trying to help me feel better?" Noah nods "Yeah.." "Well it's working, but what happened was fucked up, I won't get over it, I know none of us will" Noah nods "I know" Noah grabs June's hand and holds it. "Bro you're so down bad for me" he jokes, Noah laughs "Sure am" he jokes.

Jude eventually walks back into the living room with his blanket and pillow throwing them both on the couch. Noah and June were covered by their blankets and Jude assumed they were asleep. He walked into the kitchen, opened the pantry got a bag of chips out, and sat at the table.  He opened his phone, then the direct message between him and Noel, there wasn't much besides bickering or small talk. He reads the past texts.

.Jan 15 **** at 8:24 am. "Jude! Tell June to meet us at the field for lunch, he blocked me again lol" - Noel

.Jan 15 **** at 8:30 am. "Sure whatever" - Jude

.Jan 19 **** at 3:56 pm. "JUDE!" - Noel

.Jan 20 **** at 8:48 pm. "What?" - Jude

.Jan 20 **** at 8:50 pm. "Took a day to reply, slow ass, anyways just wanted to say" - Noel

.Jan 20 **** at 9:00 pm. "Say what?" - Jude

.Jan 20 **** at 9:01 pm. "You're a fag LMAO" - Noel

.Jan 20 **** at 9:02 pm. Jude read the message

.Jan 20 **** at 9:02 pm. Jude has blocked this number.

.Jan 30 **** at 2:00 am. Jude has unblocked this number "Here's the address to the party I guess, dumbass"

.Jan 30 **** at 2:01 am. "THANKS MAN!" - Noel

Jude sighs

.Feb 18 **** at 9:47 pm. "Hey dumbass, If you say it wasn't your fault, cool, but It was your idea to summon a fucking demon, I mean what the fuck were you thinking, clearly you were not!" - Jude

.Feb 18 **** at 9:50 pm. Noel read the message

.Feb 18 **** at 10:00 pm. "Maybe I wasn't, I don't know why I thought this was safe...I just want Maya to be alive again...I'm going to sleep, you should too, Night" - Noel

.Feb 18 **** at 10:02 pm. "Nightman" - Jude

Jude had finished his bag of chips by now and yawned. He stands up and throws his bag away, then walks into the living room, shuts the light off and laying on the couch.

Hours later. The front door opened as nighttime light filled the room right in front of Jude's eyes, waking him. He tossed over as a woman said "Flip the light" The light was turned on. "Jude- what are you two- I- Three sleeping in here for?" Jude covers his face with the blanket. "Jude." Jude sighed "Yes mama?" he sat up and then yawned. "Answer my question." she says now annoyed, because he ignored her at first. "Why's it matter?" His mom glared at him "Jude Romeo Reyes, watch your attitude" Mrs Reyes snaps back. "Just a sleepover, may I go back to sleep?"
Mrs Reyes smiles "Was that so hard? Yeah go back to sleep sorry to wake you, love you" She walks to the steps. Mr Reyes flips the lights off "Don't give us attitude for no reason, night Jude" He says. "Night Dad".
