AUTHOR'S POV
Ivan rushed into the school and ran towards his class.
It was already 8:32 and unfortunately for him, his classroom was the last one in the corridor.
As he turned the corner to his class, he saw a familiar face writing on the black board outside the staff room.
"Hi Nikki- Nikitha.",He greeted her as he rushed past her.
"Hello, Ivan" she smiled at him as she replied.
Ivan smiled back and hurried inside the class. Their maths teacher gave him a stare, he almost expected fire balls to come out of her eyes.
He apologized to her repeatedly and made his way to his seat.He looked around to see if anyone cared but surprisingly no one did.
His attention went back to his teacher who was waiting for him to settle down so she can continue the class.
He noticed on the other side the on the vedha was sitting beside Hayley probably doodling in her note book. And Anvi was sitting a bench away from them writting down something from the black board.
He quickly took Manav's notebook and copied down whatever he had missed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You always have to shove food into your mouth like there's no tomorrow, right? Ms. Puffer fish", a voice was heard from behind Vedha.
"Continue to eat like that, and surely there'll be no tomorrow", Hayley commented.
Vedha didn't care about what they said.
Anvi walked in after finishing her lunch with her other group of friends.
"Hey! peeps", she exclaimed.
"Peeps..? No one e- even uses that word any...more, Anvi... Why is your vocabulary always....outdated?", vedha teased her bestfriend while trying to swallow the food in her mouth.
"Whatever... anyways...have you heard what happened to-..." Anvi continued.
Then Anvi, Hayley and manav engaged in, what Anvi calls 'a gossip sesh'.
Meanwhile Vedha's mind was elsewhere.
She was staring distance while thinking about Nivea, her childhood bestfriend who went missing 2 years ago.
She missed the way they would play hide-and-seek when they were young and Nivea would have the best hiding spot, or how they would lay in grass and star-gaze in Nivea's front yard
She missed the way they'd buy choki choki and eat it during class while trying not to get caught by the teacher.
Now Vedha's eyes were clouded with sadness and her forehead was creased with a frown.
She was well aware that if someone looked at her, they'd know she was about to cry.
But what she wasn't aware of tho was that she was staring at Ivan for the past 7 and half minutes without blinking.
Ivan had obviously noticed a set of dark brown eyes staring at him and was definitely weirded out by it.
Yikes.
But even Ivan had noticed that Vedha's eyes were starting to tear up.
Vedha quickly wiped her one tear, closed her lunch box and headed back to her class.
Anvi was already back in class chatting up with her other friends.
While Hayley went to their neighbouring class to meet with a junior of theirs who was her friend.
But she couldn't find her anywhere so she turned around to head back to class when she bumped into someone
"Oh so sorry", she blurted and looked up
"Oh, it's alright...", replied a steady but soft voice
"Ah..Hey Niki", Hayley said
"Hello there...well ..gotta go so.. see you later" Nikitha replied as she rushed back outside the classroom just as fast as she came in.
Hayley watched as Nikitha talked to Ivan while walking to the other side of the campus. It most definitely looked like he was making her laugh
Making her laugh a little too much.
She wondered what Ivan had to do with her.
She found it weird that the two people who've never even talked to eachother before and almost flirting with one another.
Anyways, it was none of her concerns.
So she made her way back to class.
