"I think that in reality no one comes into the world with a precise image of their own reason for being...Each of us must find this reason, by moving forward in life and facing difficulties...with perseverance. ..The reason for which we were born... the reason for which we can continue to exist... our reason for being... It's as if we decided it ourselves.[...]Everyone is looking for that... and if I have the choice... if I can choose my "purpose"... I would like it to be "inside" someone. » Natsuki Takaya Fruit Basket Volume 8

PROLOGUE

Trust is not given to anyone, but it is not given unconditionally either, especially to a person who defines themselves as close to us simply because we share part of our blood. Personally, I think that absolute trust does not exist. More than that, I think that it should not exist, because it would mean that the world is a utopia or that humans are heading towards their doom. There will always be someone who will betray us or abuse us. This certainty is both reassuring because of its consistency and depressing because of the pessimism it engenders.

Yes, it seems that I am pessimistic. I just see myself as a normal, realistic woman. Realist and addicted to video games, especially RPGs. A paradox. Is it the desire to prove that I am right or on the contrary is it an unconscious wish to find something that would oppose this certainty? What I found in this game was beyond what I could have imagined. It changed my life and what it means to me. Maybe I finally have a reason to pursue her. Or maybe my end is near. Ultimately, it's always a matter of perspective.
