"You failed to save me again." said a voice that I can't identify where it's coming from.

"What did I fail and who am I supposed to save?" I shouted, not knowing who I was talking to.

"You failed to get me out of the darkness," her voice sounded almost like a whisper.

"I don't know what you are talking about, but please let me help you," I said.

I looked around the area, it was full of darkness. After a minute of silence, all the chills and goosebumps reached me. A frigid hand held mine stopping me from moving. I froze, but slowly had the courage to look back.

It was her, the one I loved, the one who was once my everything.... filled with blood all over her body and tears all over her face.

"You failed me." her voice was like a stab to my heart.

"Casp, wake up." I heard another voice from the distance. "Casp." I felt a hand shaking my whole body, who is this-

"Mother." I said after suddenly rising from my sleep... I was asleep.

"Are you still having nightmares about her?" mom asked full of concern.

"Just having trouble sleeping, Mom," I lied again and again, I've been having nightmares since the news about her death reached me. It has been exactly a year since then, but it never stopped haunting me.

"Well, I hope you're not lying because you are certainly weeping while sleeping," she stated.

I just nodded and went on to eat my breakfast. After a while, nurse Kaia went inside my room and greeted me with her usual bright smile.

"Good morning, Zael. Here are your meds for today. And by the way, I heard that they added a swing near the lake. I think it was from her parents," nurse Kaia said. I stopped eating because of what I've heard. It has been bugging me knowing that after a while, I still can't talk about her without hurting.

"That's nice," I replied shortly.

"Zael, go out hun. It's time to take some step and breathe outside you know. That lake was your favorite place before she came, I hope you don't forget that. She wouldn't want you to." Nurse Kaia's right, she'd hate me if she knew that I never came back again to our place, which was the lake.

"I'll go check it out, nurse," I said to ease her concern towards me. This is the perfect time to let some wounds heal. I've been hiding them too much that I never had the chance to actually cure them.

After eating breakfast, mom bid her good bye and went to work. While I prepared myself to go back to the lake, with my oxygen tank in my bag.

As I stepped outside my room, I heard a loud gasp. It was Adryan, my best bud.

"Someone's finally leaving his nest! Where to go?" he asked, shouting.

"Keep it down, nerd. I'm going to the lake," I calmly replied. I could see in his reaction how worried he was after learning where I'm planning on going.

"You'll be fine?" he asked, with concern again. Everyone has been so concerned about me whenever she or anything about our past was brought up.

"Yes, I'll just be quick," I said while smiling to ease his worries.

I said good bye to him and walked outside the hospital. The lake of the hospital is not very far, but not too many patients know about it that's why I love it there. It was peaceful.
