She but not me

In our story, I was written in the prologue.
A fleeting introduction to the dialogue
I thought I was your one, the central stage.
But now I see that I'm just a passing page.

You found her, your epilogue, and your final verse.
While I'm left behind, lost in the wilderness
I'm just your pages, easily forgotten and tossed,
But she's your princess; you're forever and almost.

I've been there when you had nothing.
But you lost me when you had everything.
I gave my all, my heart, and my soul in every line.
But you found your universe in her arms, not mine.

She's your happily ever after, your fairy tale dream.
I'm left to pick up the pieces of my broken rim.
I'm just your stopgap, your chapter in between.
But she's your one, your unforeseen.

So go on, walk into the universe with her.
While I remain behind, just a memory, a blur.
I'll be the one who loved you but couldn't stay.
While she's the one you'll cherish and always will be,.

Unloving the person who used to be my home.

You're the first sight I see each morning, my routine,
Loving you brings comfort, like my daily vitamin.
You're my happiness dose, my haven so serene,
My constant foe and best friend in every scene.

Yet all this love can't make you stay.
I'm not enough to keep you anyway.
You promised you'd never leave me alone,
But you never said we'd still be one.

To make things easier, you let go of my hand.
To find your happiness, you must explore the land.
To be at your best, you need someone at your peak.
And to be with them, it's my heart you must break.

From the day you turned away from me,
I vowed to fulfill the promises you couldn't see.
I promise to hold my own hand, despite the strife.
To care for myself through the rough days of life.

I promise to love myself more than I love you.
To stay true to me, no matter who bids adieu.
I thought you were my home, but now I clearly see,
You were just a stop-over, leading to my true home for me.
