I woke up to my alarm clock ringing through my ears. I slammed my hand on it to shut it off.

"Get up, Brook!" I heard my father yell from outside my door. I grumbled as I got out of bed, I dug in my closet and searched for something to wear. I chose a pair of baggy blue jeans and a small top, then I threw on one of Stu's sweaters on that I had in my closet. I grabbed my white sneakers and shoved them on my feet.

I walked into the bathroom, brushed out my hair, and then brushed my teeth. I added in some makeup and did my hair, then walked downstairs.

I grabbed my backpack and threw it over my shoulders, I jogged, put the door, and sat in the passenger side of Billy's car.

My mother left around 2 or 3 years ago, when she figured out my father was having an affair with another woman. My father was left to raise me and Billy.

I shoved my backpack down at my feet and buckled my seat belt. Billy drove off. The car rides to school in the morning are usually silent and short. Billy pulled into the school parking lot and parked his car.

"Oh shit." I said. The school was surrounded by news vans and cop cars.

"Be cool." Billy said, he got out of the car and closed the door behind him, walking off to probably go find Sidney, his girlfriend.

I grabbed my bag and put it on my shoulders, and started to walk towards the main building. I looked over to my side to find Stu running to catch up with me. He grabbed me by the waist and threw me over his shoulder.

"Stu!" I exclaimed.

"Good morning." He greeted.

He put me down and grabbed my hand.

"Shit is crazy." Stu said as he pointed to the cops and new reporters.

I laughed, "Yup." I said, popping the p.

Stu handed me an earbud and I put it in my ear while he changed out the cassette in his Walkman. He shoved in a Nirvana cassette and continued walking.

I saw Sidney and Tatum ahead. Tatum was one of my best friends. She was a nice girl. Her older brother, Dewey, was the deputy for the Woodsboro Police Department.  Sidney was also a nice person, but nothing super special about her. I wondered where Billy was.

There was lots of whispering and chatter going on. Police radios scratching, News reports being broadcasted. I smirked at the sight.

Stu and I quickly ran up to the 2 girls.

"What happened?" We shouted. Sidney and Tatum gasped.

"Can you believe this shit?" Tatum said.

"What happened?" Sidney asked eagerly.

"Casey Becker and Steve Orth were killed last night." Tatum answered.

"What? No way!" I said, surprised.

Tatum nodded, "We aren't just talking killed. We are talking slasher-movie killed. Ripped open from end to end."

"Casey Becker sits next to me in English class." Sidney said.

"Not anymore." Stu says, gripping my hand.

"It's so sad. Her parents found her hanging from a tree, her insides on the outside." Tatum explains.

"Do they know who did it?"

"Fucking clueless... I mean they're interrogating the entire school, teachers, students, janitors."
