As the darkness of night enveloped the orphanage, Yanis found herself once again at the mercy of her cruel cousins. Liro and Dayle, with their sneers and taunts, cornered her against the cold stone walls while Ikie, with a wicked glint in his eye, brandished a pair of shears.
"Why do you always have to ruin everything, Yanis?" Liro spat, his voice dripping with malice as he advanced towards her.
Dayle's laughter echoed through the dimly lit corridor, sending shivers down Yanis' spine. "You think you're better than us, don't you? With your pretty little face and your precious flowers."
Yanis's heart pounded in her chest as she backed away, her breaths coming in shallow gasps. She knew what was coming next, could feel the sting of tears threatening to spill from her eyes.
Ikie stepped forward, his gaze cold and calculating. "Time to teach you a lesson, little cousin," he hissed, the shears glinting in the faint light.
Yanis trembled as Ikie advanced, her instincts screaming at her to flee. But there was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide from the torment that awaited her.
With a swift motion, Ikie lunged forward, his blade slicing through Yanis' fiery locks with brutal precision. The sound of hair falling to the floor filled the air, each snip a painful reminder of her helplessness.
Through the haze of pain and fear, Yanis could hear the cruel laughter of her cousins, their jeers echoing off the walls of the orphanage. She squeezed her eyes shut, willing herself to endure, to survive another night of torment.
Liro sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. "Thought you could get away from us, did you, little orphan?"
Dayle's laughter was like a knife to Yanis' ears as he stepped closer, his fists clenched at his sides. "You're not so tough without your precious hair, are you?"
Yanis clenched her jaw, defiance blazing in her eyes despite the fear churning in her stomach. "Leave me alone," she spat, her voice trembling with suppressed anger. "I don't want anything to do with you."
Ikie's grin was twisted with malice as he brandished the scissors, the metal glinting ominously in the dim light. "Oh, but we're not done with you yet, little cousin," he taunted, his voice dripping with cruelty. "There's still plenty more where that came from."
Yanis recoiled as he advanced on her, her heart pounding in her chest as she fought to keep her fear at bay. "Please," she pleaded, her voice barely a whisper. "Just leave me alone."
But her words fell on deaf ears as her cousins closed in, their laughter echoing through the empty halls of the orphanage as they set about their cruel work.
As Yanis recoiled, her cousins' laughter grew louder, taunting her with their cruelty. She stumbled backward, her back pressed against the unforgiving stone wall, a silent plea for mercy in her eyes.
Liro and Dayle exchanged a wicked grin, reveling in Yanis' vulnerability. "What's the matter, little cousin?" Liro sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "Don't you want a new look?"
Dayle's laughter echoed through the corridor as he grabbed a handful of Yanis' fiery locks, yanking her head back with a cruel force. "Hold still, brat," he growled, his grip tightening as Yanis struggled against his grasp.
With a sinking heart, Yanis realized there was no escape, no reprieve from the torment her cousins inflicted upon her. She closed her eyes, steeling herself for the pain to come, praying for the strength to endure.
But even as the shears descended, slicing through her vibrant hair with a sickening snip, Yanis refused to surrender to despair. Deep within her, a flicker of defiance burned bright, a beacon of hope in the darkness of her suffering.
