He growled at the cat. The cat hissed back.

Of course, no one saw him, since everyone was busy with unlocking the door. Or... so he thought. Anyways, he was absolutely angry.

"What kind of messed up experiment is this?" Duckgae spat at the cat, but the blue Cheshire Cat didn't respond, only smiling its freaky grin. Duckgae sighed, frustrated. "She has..." Duckgae's voice lowered, "She has one life left. Whoever is the maker of this fucked up labyrinth better not touch her anymore."

Behind the walls of the room was Baedi, listening intently.

"Baedi. Hey." Duckgae called, voice rough.

"Mhm?" Baedi answered back with a smile.

Duckgae got close to her and rummaged through his inventory. It didn't take too long to find what he was looking for. He took out the Rêve de Moi and half tossed, half handed it to her.

"Keep this. It's..." Duckgae trailed off, and continued more quietly, looking away, "It doesn't belong to me anyway."

Duckgae really tried not to look, okay? But Baedi was one of those people who were impossible to look away from. A bright, warm ray of sunshine, maybe even the star itself, warming even the coldest of the hearts.

"Thank you."

The message was so genuine, so soft. It was a side of Baedi Duckgae had never seen before, and a slight (maybe a lot) of heat took over his face. He shook his head and walked away quickly, covering his mouth with his hand.

Baedi let out a happy sigh and bounced after him, a smile so joyous enough to break a hole through any factory smoke covered sky.

Baedi couldn't help but let out a little squeak and a few tears as the glass shattered loudly, echoing through the Queen of Heart's maze.

"W-Who broke the vase?" Baedi let out, not meaning to. Her whole body trembled uncharacteristically. Baedi didn't really understand why, but the entire maze freaked her out. It almost felt like a if this was the end of her road for her, right there in the maze-

Baedi was distracted from her thoughts from something warm touching, then grabbing her hands.

"D-Duckgae?"

Wordlessly, Duckgae moved on with Baedi still in his hands. They separated when the queen inspected the diamonds.

"Duckgae!"

Duckgae's eyes focused on a familiar person running towards him. He crooked his head, "What-?"

"Take this." Baedi forced a diamond into Duckgae's hands. Duckgae tried to give it back, but Baedi pushed against his hands.

"But-"

"Keep it, Duckgae. I'll find more around here!"

Duckgae frowned but submitted. Baedi's optimistic smile was the only thing that allowed Duckgae to let go of her.

That idiot.

His heart lurched forward as the red barrier blocked Baedi and Bonggu from joining the rest of the group.

So you were the littles pests that were stealing my precious diamonds.
