"The last fight of a legendary 7 year ufc career for a once in a lifetime fighter, merrick stark is doing the unfathomable tonight trying to win not just his final fight but also his fourth and final piece of hardware that coveted bmf belt in a fight the entire world has been dying to see happen In Jon jones versus Dakota stark"

I listened to the tv in the locker room as I sat waiting trying to get focused for what's the most important fight of my life up to this point and waited until it was time for me to walk out which came after a few more minutes of sitting and light meditation then it happened the call came in from one of the production crew "mac!, it's time"

I got up and headed out of the locker room and making my way out of the locker room and took a walk to the octagon which actually felt a lot longer than it normally did but I can only chalk that up to it just being nerves about this retirement fight as I walked with my trainers and coach to the cage with the crowd being a lot louder than I had ever heard them before with cameras seemingly everywhere as I made my walk to the referee for the pre fight check.

I got all checked and took a deep breath as I walked into the cage with everything around me finally calming down as I heard the cage door close and lock while me and Jon stood in the middle of the cage and stared at one another both prepared for battle and once the ref got through telling us the rules and separating us the bell rung and everything was pure silence as my flow state kicked in almost instantly.

A Classic, a war, one for the ages, one of the greatest ufc fights of all time is how people seemed to describe my fight with Jon jones on social media and through mma circles in general both mainstream and smaller spaces which to me I didn't really pay attention to at the time because I was trying to come back from the mix of adrenaline and the flow state taking over so I only really remember important segments of the fight just not the whole thing yet until i get a chance to rewatch it at some point in time but the black and grey belt on my lap tells me everything important that happened even if all the events in the cage were a blur of events to me currently as i adjusted my hoodie and sweats as I was brought out of my thinking as my phone rung in my gym bag that was luckily next to me as my team was gearing us up to head out to the airport

I answered as I stood up while i answered a unexpected but not unwelcome call from my agent since i did need to talk with him soon on what i planned to do since i was about to be retired from fighting and was gonna need something to do to keep bringing in money and taking care of my responsibilities.

"Charlie, you workin fast man what's up?" I can hear some sarcasm on his end as he talks "kid i don't really have a choice, it's not like you're the sports industry biggest star or anything I don't have any other choice but to be fast now come on i saw the fight and congrats but now i need a answer we still going with summerslam or what?" I rub my face smiling "I hear you, i hear you and yea August 3rd is the date I'm returning at summerslam"

he laughs "summerslam huh?, I guess the only other big one is mania but yea mac let's do it, I know you're style so I'll keep it quiet, now go enjoy yourself and you better start training"

I nodded and after a few more things got discussed like what my ideal contract length would be and what my starting pay would like along with seeing if i could pull off getting some like vacation days or accruing time off,  i hung up and went on getting my things packed up and headed on knowing that things were about to get a lot more exciting for me just as I got another call seemingly back to back this one not as unexpected.

"Hey kid it's hunter" I smiled as I walked with my backpack on and my duffle bag around my shoulders that held my title while I headed out of the locker room "been a long time papa h, a long time" he chuckled at that on the other end "heh, yea it has kid but in all seriousness I called a little earlier because I wanted you to know me and stephanie will be kidnapping you in a sense so we can make more preparations for your return to wwe while we're looking over doing a potential show or two in las vegas along with wrestlemania"
