so every year at Chalmette the choir performs a review show called Glitter and Gloves. they do excerpts from various shows and we usually audition and all that jazz. one of the audition songs was Sixteen Going on Seventeen which is the one I wanted. the last day during of auditions we stayed extra hours and this is what went down
"okay let's have Dylan go up for Rolf," Arianna said
the two sisters whispered behind a sheet of paper discussing who to pick for Liesel
"and Lily for Liesel," Arianna said
Lily walked up to me and smiled
"hey do mind if I touch and stuff?," she asked
"oh yeah go ahead," I replied with a smile
so they we were going through the song and they were so many sparks between us and our energy filled the room. the chemistry between us was ridiculous.
a few weeks later and me and Lily got the part. It was great knowing that I'd be able to perform with her and she felt the same way.
we started rehearsing on a Tuesday and Ari, our director, took us on stage to choreograph.
we staged and staged until we got to end which required a kiss.
"we have to kiss?!," I exclaimed
"yes you do but don't worry you can do it when you're ready," Ari replied
and so we practiced and practiced until it became dress rehearsal, the day before we opened.
I've got to kiss her tonight or else she'll think I'm a wuss. tonight's the night, it's now or never.
our song was the second part of the show so we had a little downtime backstage before we went on.
"I'm nervous Dylan," Lily said as she squeezed my hand tight
"you're gonna do great," I said
her face brightened as she turned away to look on stage.
"here we go," I said as we walked on stage ready to kill this number
we're going and going, and past the dance break oh god it's coming, the dip oh god here's the kiss it's here oh gosh oh gosh and
it happened.
the kiss was very gentle and lasted for a good 4 seconds. Lilys lips were smooth and delicate which made the kiss even more passionate. even though the kiss lasted for 4 seconds, it felt like a lifetime. even though there were people in that audience, it felt like it was me and Lily. even though we hadn't kissed before, this kiss between us was special.
Lilys POV
oh my god. that kiss was spectacular. I never knew Dylan was such a good kisser. I've never had anybody kiss me like that before. it was beautiful but yet so intense.
after the dress rehearsal ended I went into the girls dressing room to say a few words to Lily
the door opened to reveal Lily
"hey I just wanted to say that I think you did amazing tonight"
she smiled at me and said, "thanks Dyl and you too and btw that kiss was amazing"
"haha I know aren't I the best?," I replied
she said goodbye and closed the door. I leaned my back against the door.
"what the hell am I gonna do..."
