Alice's POV

I walked up to the door of 'my' tiny house, arms full with one single box, holding all of 'my' possessions. When really, they're just the clothes of one of the nurse's daughter's who died. Plus a picture of me on the night I arrived there. Not much, but its a start. But atleast the house is nice?

Small in size, white paint chipped, it actually suits me. It's victorian style is actually inviting, with two levels. And its in the middle of nowhere, of course, in the forest that I appeared to have come from.... Yeah, that's a little awkward.....and creepy.

I kick open the door, already being open. Safety probably isn't a concern all the way here.... There's a small yellowing kitchen with just a sink and pantry to the left and a living room to the right of me. Wow....its a little small, but cozy. I walk up the stairs, dropping the box on the bed that awaits me on the upper level. The old floorboard creek under my beat up black sneakers as I creep over to the window, pushing the curtains apart to show a thick forest of tall pine trees. Hm. No neighbors? That's kinda a relief, I just want to be alone for now... I don't think I can handle people..

I flop down on the queen sized mattress, curling up under the black comforters. I close my eyes, letting out a sigh of contentment.

.......................................................................................................

"Alex!" a high, screechy voice calls. I snap my head to it.

"Huh?....." who is this little girl? She has blonde hair and tan-ish skin, the complete opposite of me. She grabs my arm, pulling me through thick trees, maneuvering easily as I try and keep up.

We stop in the middle of a bright clearing, her back facing me, she sits cross-legged. I edge closer, "Who are you?" I whisper.

She let's out a giggle that echos around me, "Oh silly, I'm your bestest friend!!!" her eery laugh ricochets.

I stiffen, stopping to be frozen in fear and confusion. "I don't know you! Who are you really!?!" I clench my fists nervously.

She laughs even more, and our surroundings grow darker and all of the trees shed their leaves. I shiver at her mature and evil voice. "You'll never escape us, NEVER!" She twists to face me, revealing a featureless white face. "He wants you, and when he wants something, he TAKES it." she laugh, twirling her hair in her tiny fingers. "See you soon, Alexxxxx..."

I grit my teeth, hiding my fear. "Its not Alex, its Alice."

"Sure it is, Alex."

.....................................................................................................................

I suck in all of the air in the room, sitting straight up. Wha....? Did I fall asleep that fast? I rub the back of my neck, letting out a groan. Slipping out of my warm and cozy bed, walk towards the window, on cold and creaky wood. I look out, feeling soothed when I'm met with a full moon shining directly into the room. Its reallly pretty out here...... especially at night time, the forests are so.... enchanting...

Wait.... is that a man out there? I squint, pressing my face up against the glass. What the hell is he doing all the way out here? And in a suit like that? Maybe he's lost or something....must be it. He stnds tall, almost blending in with the trees because of how thin he is. The only colorful piece on him is a single red tie, amongst a perfectly tailored suit. I press further into the glass, morning chill biting at my cheeks. HOLY CRAP! I stumble back, falling flat on my back. He didn't have a...... face.....

I creep back to the window. Is he still there? I peek my eyes up to glance back out. There's nothing put spindly green trees now, no more No-Face. "It was probably just my imagination, yeah that's it. I'm just tired, that's all..." I talk to myself as I stand, dusting myself off. I smirk, hurrying down to the kitchen, "He's not real....he can't be."
